Were web 2.0's REALLY nerfed?

Hey,

I've now been hanging out on this forum for a while and came to realise there is more noise than there are facts, and that in order to learn anything remotely useful you just dm the pros. I have heard that web 2.0's were nerfed the day I came here, there was a big fuss about it, and now seeing success from my link building campaigns having not listened to most people, I'm strating to wonder, were web 2.0's really nerfed?

Has this been like an earthquake which everyone has inevitably been shaken by or is it the result of people loud mouthing again? I haven't seen any disputes to the proclamation that web 2.0's were now dead, though I haven't seen any disputes to any claims if they weren't just ridiculous.

So the question remains for me, are web 2.0's really dead?

Never used them tbh. Had results without them.

One of my sites got a lot of web2.0s a while ago (I didn't built them, idk why) and tanked massively in traffic.

I had the same thought as OP, but after a few tests were done it seems to be working just fine for me. Though I intended to diversify more soon rather than sticking to only web 2.0 for backlinks.

Web 2.0s are dead if you cannot index them. Just send some links to them and you'll be amazed to see the power they hold.

I use them as “digital real estate” by registering them with the site name in the subdomain.

It depends on what you feed your web 2.0s.

If they can't stand on their own or it's obvious garbage that you've fed them, you can still increase the quality of your link juice by picking web 2.0s with higher domain authority.

At the end of the day, the more natural your link network looks to Google, the stronger the link juice you pump to your target pages.

That's primarily what web 2.0 is for.

Relatively few people put their main or money sites on these types of sites.

Web2.0s still works if created in a correct way and can help you diversify your backlink profile. I use them on my sites along with other types of links.

Dont tier 2 them with garbage. Buy the $10 PBN links from marketplace here and send them to your web 2.0s. Build them out like real mini blogs. It's just a lot more work and for the amount of $ and effort required, you might as well just go buy a link. This is why they're not really worth the hassle anymore. I am not sure if GSA type spam on lower tiers still works, I think if you do it right and get your GSA contextuals to stick and index then it should still work in theory. I am not sure though.
