You should always check manually for the first google results to confirm and never rely on the automated tool for the final decision.

KD scores aren't reliable at all. Please don't judge keyword competition based on these scores.

like everyone else said, KD scores don't mean anything anymore because the competition has become fierce in the last 5-6 years, everyone and their dog nowadays want traffic from google and this creates tough competition in all niches (and especially the ones that are profitable).
That's why you hear SEO pros recommend to focus on long tail keywords when you're starting out with your 1st few sites, but even long tails require strong domains and backlinks to rank most of the time, so you can bet your ass that a keyword with so much traffic is anything but easy to rank for
Your best way of assessing the competitiveness of keywords is to simply type the keyword into google (just make sure you're logged out of your google accounts or else google will show you personalized results) and take a look at the domains ranking in top 5 for that keyword. If you see big brands, or popular sites, or sites with 1000s of RDs and great content stay away from that keyword no matter how appealing it looks to you.
If, on the other hand, you see social media and UGC sites (reddit, quora, pinterest, stackoverflow), or wikipedia, amazon... or even forums... or badly structured and poorly optimized sites whose names don't tell you anything you've found a good keyword that you just might rank for without backlinks and without a strong, aged domain name.

no problem. And good luck in finding those gems that only you can rank for! It takes time and effort but they're definitely there (about 15% of every search done in google is new, never done before, so the opportunity definitely exists
)
