Make new PMs a different color or more bold. Not that noticeable

Am I the only one who has trouble seeing the difference between a read and unread PM? I must be getting old lol. But I have missed many messages because I barely see a difference. Maybe it's the yellow color that throws me off or whatever. Just barely tell a difference between regular and the current bold.
Wondering if a way to change the boldness, or make new unread messages red or something

Once you open your inbox, you can click filters and then sort messages by those that are unread, as shown below:
