What type of content is in more demand these days:
Handwritten unique content
Expired scraped content
AI content

Or is there market for all 3 equally?

Your talking about what content you want to see, or are you offering this?
This is what most of buyers are looking for I guess
I don't need content and I don't offer this as a service.

I quit seo 3 years ago, best decision ever, LOL.

You could see what the market is like on BHW.

Goto the "Content / Copywriting" marketplace and sort by "Most Replies" or "Most Views", to see which BST's are most popular.

I did check before posting this. I do not want to limit this to bow marketplace only. Asked in general.

All of the above work just fine. Even translated content works just fine bro. There is one condition, and one condition only. Answer the search query.

1. Generate content with AI in pieces. Then edit it and add numbers/facts/intricate details. Fix some here and there and it will rank just fine. Google doesn't know it's AI unless you want it to know. Remember AI is just a tool to help you write, it is not a "push this button generate article" - it never will be. To get good content with AI you need a good heading structure/article outline. Then you generate each part and edit it. Not worth it for me, but for those struggling with content $ it will definitely help them get more content out in a short amount of time.

2. Expired content if written well and answers the query is again good to go. What people on BHW do is buy a ton of expired content and post it on a domain and then expect it to rank magically. You must still research a LOW COMP keyword and post an article on a low comp keyword for it to rank right? so if the expired article is targeting a random ass high/medium comp keyword then it is not going to rank, just like a handwritten article if not written on a low comp topic will not rank by itself.

3. Translated content, again if you fix it up and it addresses the search query and is unique then it ranks just fine. I built an old site with a lot of translated content and almost all of it ranked.

4. Handwritten content by who? most BHW sellers sell garbage. This garbage is not going to rank, if it does, it will go down sooner or later.

Point I am making is all of these are viable sources for content. People build sites with word vomit. If you are just filling up words and getting a boner thinking I have a 5000 word article that is so 'wow' then you need to revisit your strategy. Write USEFUL content, that solves the problem, gives the answer, and is not copied/duplicate.

$1 per 1000 words, written by native speakers that work well with lady gaga and Micky mouse backlinks

There's a massive disparity between what I would consider 1000 words of well researched, good grammatically correct copy and what others would consider well researched, good grammatically correct copy.
And here's the problem, those that can't tell the difference because their English is not that good - cant possibly know good copy from bad.

AI content is fantastic for getting started and getting ideas about what to write, you would be amazed by the ideas it can come up with. Sprinkle in your own unique content throughout and you have yourself a winner. True writing professionals are not working for $5, no way.

Sales copy is definitely the best type of content. Copywriting is much more lucrative than broad content writing. Niche content writing is one step forward, read on to see why. Of course content that is in volume, is cheap and also good is in most demand. However, this type of content became commodity - you can sell it like a peddlar and someone will buy - yet the price won't cross 2 cents per word. Since demand for it was so huge, people add it to carts ignoring specific attributes. In fact, most sellers will just ask for a list of keywords which for professional copywriters is a big red flag.

So I would put it as follows, ignoring the question somehow and simply focus on long term success.

1. Sales letters, brochures, mailings. Requires C2/native. You need to be passionate about English to get there. If you don't like learning new words, say no to this.
2. Specialized materials like case studies, landing page copy, ad copy. Still if you miss something in these nobody will want you. Both this and point 1 must be perfectly optimized for target audience.
3. Specialized content writing ie. if you are an engineer, you can write great content about building stuff like me. Can be done by people like me who only speak English, have some domain specific knowledge but had no occasion to master the language itself.
4. Generalized blog posts, product descriptions, 2nd tier of everything listed in points 2 and 1 (like case study for small business).
5. SEO stuff people write when they don't know what they're doing except they've heard about that SEO thing and keywords being important. So here you have all AI content, scraped, translated and outsourced stuff.

There were couple BSTs in the past that looked more like point 4 and 3 but members went aloof. Now it's mostly 3rd world trying to get into IM. So point 1 can get you $1 per word, point 5 can get you 1 cent per word. You will sell point 5 super easily and point 1 super hard unless you are bachelor degree English speaking country student.
