I really like brave browser as I used for some time already and didn't find any issue with it. Just a great browser and the fact that is not tracked/property of google make it even more better.

Ya' I'll never use them again. I had over $150. and tried to get it back. System crashed and I had to reload and I could NOT get back in to my account. Spent days with Tech support and they finally bailed on me with longer waiting times between responses and just plain ignoring me. NO THANKS!~ I was one of the First Early Adapters! Wherre's the LOVE?

I stopped using Brave the day they cookie stuffed crypto users.

imo Opera is number one for everything from user experience to extensions (if you don’t find an add on on the opera store, then you can find it through operas native chrome web store extension) to basic security (yes they also have built in ad/tracker portection as if that’s a big deal these days
).They don’t have ‘any’ reward system for whatever BAT is worth but they do have a fairly decent exclusive cashback system that they own and operate.
Also just to add, their basic built-in native VPN is totally free and premium is also a good deal unlike Brave’s VPN which is powered by an outrageously overpriced but otherwise mediocre commercial VPN called Guardian.
Check out Opera’s other range of niche browsers - In addition to Opera classic, they also have Opera GX browser optimised for gaming and streaming and also the latest - Opera crypto browser, the worlds first mainstream browser designed specifically for W3 - it’s already available on every major OS except iOS (in the works it says). Oh and also Opera light designed specifically for android.
Also there’s a streaming service with a multitude of films and shows, a gaming platform and even a full software suite for making games. Not really my cup of tea but looks like good fun if you’ve ever wanted to try your hand at making games.
Also, just looking at the whole down with AMP sentiments Brave are trying to promote….. they would say that, since they are a direct search competitor.
I can’t help but notice all the big name browsers that constantly obsess about privacy as if that’s the be all and end all to a good browser and browsing experience are also heavily vested in search and have their own search engines: from Brave to DDG to Ghostery Dawn, they’re all gunning to be the next big search giant. Which rouses a fair degree of suspicion and skepticism about their claims as having a highly efficient and effective search engine AND a totally privacy oriented browser seems like an incredibly challenge endeavour to me, even for the very tech savvy.
Opera doesn’t constantly bombard you using the word ‘privacy’ almost like an exclusive selling point. Vivaldi doesn’t do that either. Brave does. A lot! All the time in fact.
Just stick with Google for search. All the other big search engines that aren’t foreign are pretty much all powered by bing anyway, ddg, qwant, ecosia etc. And as far as browsers go if you are obsessive about this type of stuff, might just be best to stick with Firefox / Firefox Focus. They are tried and tested, come with tonnes of features like native DNS encryption and HTTPS preference/prerequisites, and are not involved in the search industry. Nor do they need to throw chump change in the way of ‘rewards’ as bait to get people to use it. And then there’s the whole Cryptomining scandal brave were involved in as briefly mentioned by someone else. But maybe save that one for another day.
As for stepping on the little guy, whether merchant or marketer, I think Amazon take the biscuit with that one hands down. No reason to target Google tbf, they’re not that bad when it comes to either privacy or payments compared to their competitors, MS and Amazon.
