$100 Budget for Backlinks, What Are You Choosing ?

Hi,

I'm a bit lost with backlinks, because I prefer to focus on good content (more interesting for me).
But I feel like I miss some value to not focus a minimum on backlinks when I see some websites having huge performance with guest posts or expired domains.

Let's say you have a fresh website and $100 budget : will you choose 1 good guest post related to your niche or pay to have 100/200 backlinks added manually (on high DA profiles, forum profiles, forums posts, etc.).

Are there also other opportunities?

With $100 I would buy Rytr for a few months, pay someone to find me 100-200 long tail keywords and use Rytr (or any other AI writer that you can afford in that budget) to create content for those keywords and publish and index those pages and you'd get more traffic than if you were to buy 1 guest post. One backlink hardly does anything, no matter where it comes from... well, when your site is new and has no backlinks anyway. For established sites it could improve the rankings if it's pointed correctly

And if you really must waste this money on backlinks then buy some foundation links (which are basically profiles on high DR sites and popular brands like soundclould, issuu, adobe, etc.) or social media signals. But I doubt that you'll get any benefit out of it when you don't have strong backlinks yet, so it's still better to spend this money elsewhere

Once had a guy email me asking about ranking his CBD site.

I asked a few questions, looked at his site and asked his budget.

He replied; $500.

I replied is that per link or equivalent of per day.

He replied; Per month.

Can't really do better for content hosnestly. I've some writers, I'm competiting on small niches and spend time to improve the articles.

Foundation links are safe if you absolutely must spend $100 on backlinks, but I doubt they'll do anything. I purchased 100 foundation links for like $20 for one of my new sites... hmm... I think over an year ago (??) and the website still doesn't rank anywhere, even though it has a few more backlinks on top of the foundation links that I've built back then.

Now, I'll admit that I didn't point those links to any specific page, nor is my website in an easy niche (it's in the self improvement niche, which is pretty competitive) or else it might have done something, I don't know. I simply pointed those links to the homepage because that's what you typically do with this kind of backlinks and then let them be.

But yeah, foundation links are probably your safest bet if you absolutely must spend that money on backlinks, they might even increase your domain's authority a little bit if they're d0follow and indexed, but as far as rankings go they won't help, so save your money, honestly!

I had the same thought a few days back. Trying to push a website off the ground without spending too much.

From all the math I've done, the best conclusion was to buy a few forum posts. I'm talking for the $100 range. Bonus, you get the forum domains, in case you want to do it manually too.

If you have more, $200-$300, I suggest you buy a guest post in one of those USA online newspapers. Not the big ones, but a decent one. I've seen them sell for $200-$300ish.

Quora answers are a good bet too, but so many sellers get their responses collapsed.

Foundation links are ok for diversity, just choose anchors wisely.

I was looking at a guys site today who had bought links on price and they have badly fucked up his anchors.

If you have a low budget, say $100, $300, consider spending where you cannot access with your own time.

If you simply want to put those $100 or whatever to work and forget, as @MisterF has already pointed out, you are going to receive peanuts in return. That is not a budget to set and forget. That is a starter's budget to start jogging.

But I'm maybe gonna do a case study as I'm lauching 8 websites (5 are translated version), like :

- one with foundation links
- one with guest posts
- one with redirection from expired domain
- other with only few foundation links (~ that I have already)

That 100$ won't do nothing to you, the best thing to do is to save this 100$, and keep targeting low competition keywords.

I would rather spend that 100$ on content because with such budget it is impossible to get any result.

Try to get as many articles as possible and after they get indexed and start ranking pick the ones which brings most visitors and if that article doesn't rank #1 point some niche edits to it (you would need around 500$ for that)

that'd be dope, I will definitely follow your case study. Maybe you could create a journey in the sub-forum with the same name? That way we can follow the progress of your case study easier

Also, I think options 1 and 4 in your list are identical, so there's no point in creating 2 sites that both get foundation links, just create 1 site only

I dont know if im missing anything here, but nobody is asking how hard his niche is, and just blatantly telling him no.

You can certainly buy backlinks to rank for very easy kws, in that budget - ive done it a quite few times. Even with some shitty pbn links u can get started, lol.

If you expect to rank for kws with thousands of volume or medium I wouldnt expect much. But you certainly can, and will rank easy kws given time.

You will either way gain knowledge if you decide to spend it, 100$ is something you can come by fairly easy so dont be afraid to try unless your afraid of losing ur site.
