I am looking to utilize some spare time for a big, fun project. Obviously, it is going to require an insane amount of consistent work. I am a complete beginner in terms of freelancing, I've never done this before but I deem myself incredibly capable and skilled when it comes to digital marketing/e-commerce/making money online.
Not only do I seriously plan to commit to this goal and make as much as I said in the title, but I'll give you a complete walkthrough of how you can do it yourself while proving this is all possible. For this reason, purposely jumping on the so-called "most oversaturated" money-making method online, freelancing, is the way to prove it. Can I make a shitload of money via this method? Let's find out. I urge you to follow this guide, don't miss out. Will update you guys about everything once a week or whenever there's a lot of news.
There's always going to be someone cheaper, faster, more intelligent, and more knowledgeable than you. Are you gonna fall into depression? Never stop building yourself in all areas, stay hungry for improvement and enjoy the journey. It's on your hands to improve your communication, problem-solving, critical thinking skills, and quality of life. If you want to make money online, you need to know how to do something damn well to be able to scale in that specific area and start finding some sort of stability.

I need a presence on some type of platform QUICKLY. Imagine if you had zero bucks in your pocket; you'd be quite hungry. Well, if you result to online jobs to save you, you're mostly out of luck. You need to possess good skills, experience, outside-the-box thinking, confidence and have an extensive portfolio to get cash quickly on the internet. Whoever sells you "INSTANT cashflow on autopilot, only $1 million!! today only" YouTube ad courses and shit like that, you must be too hopeful, desperate, or naive to bite into that. You all are kings, though. This is why you're on this forum, and I'm happy to say that most resources I come across here are more than capable of making you good money if you consistently follow the aforementioned steps on each informative thread.
I started looking into platforms I could start with. The least complicated seems to be Fiverr, however, it takes a 20% commission rate from the freelancer. Despite it being shitty, as long as the platform drives traffic to me and I just complete orders I'll be more than happy to accept that as the "disadvantage". It could be much, much worse.
I'll spend an hour or two trying to figure out how the platform operates, I do in fact have an account from 2017 but I never made any listings (quite literally signed up and never used the site again, was probably into purchasing a gig). I'm not going to start afresh account-wise, even though the current username might be irrelevant to what I plan to do on Fiverr (it's in the graphic design niche, kind of cheesy. From what I checked, you cannot change your username after creating your account there). Utilizing an aged account could potentially make a small difference in the eyes of the buyers since the date joined is displayed very on the top of the profile. I personally believe that the older the seller's account (even without ANY reviews just like mine), the better.
Thirty minutes older me here. Watched some videos from Indian/Pakistani YouTube creators, they seem to dominate Fiverr. They offer incredibly affordable gigs, they're really responsive and they seem to do a good job. What's not to like there? Shoutout to all of you guys, these are the individuals I'll strive to be like at this stage. Getting myself established in the platform is incredibly important for the project's speed. For any of the guys that are thinking of freelancing but don't possess skills in something on demand, you're in trouble. It's very important for you to be able to do something well, otherwise, you'll be stuck on being a $3/h VA.
Account Setup
I didn't reinvent the wheel here, I went ahead and set a nice logo I found out on Google with the first letter of my account's name. I don't give a fuck if it's copyrighted or not, it looks nice. I jumped on Photoshop and changed the colors and overlay a little so it cannot be reverse-searched for the big nerdos that might go ahead and do that.
Next, I went to some top-rated sellers in the digital marketing category and found the highest-ticket items that they sell. I want a good margin, so I'll offer the most expensive gigs I can to get some momentum going. However, my pricing at the start will be cheap. As cheap as it'd make sense for it to not seem too good to be true, I can say affordable instead of cheap, TBH.
Top sellers have long descriptions, I did the same. Kind of a portfolio summary and urging people to order now. Talked about my expertise in digital marketing, and years in the field and added two call-to-actions.
From there, I also added languages that I speak (I kind of exaggerate here, I don't know shit in Chinese, maybe just hello. Google Translate exists, though, lol) to further increase the account's social proof. I'll take any job I can in the start to get some reviews going.

Also took a test for "skills", passed in the top 20% of the platform. That's not good enough, I'll retake the test soon to score top 10% or 5+% if that exists, will try to get a 10/10 score. It's okay for now, though. Added a few more skills after that too that weren't verified with tests, but just help with reach and social proof. I also added stuff in the education field and any other ones that were available for me to type shit on. Everything I typed is legit, if you're "underqualified" just make shit up, but make sure you can deliver a GREAT job and don't overdo it. Jumping into gigs you cannot perform will just waste your time; buyers will get mad and dispute the payment, drop you shit reviews and you'll not get a dollar from anyone. Made my profile complete, also linking socials. Fiverr doesn't show socials, so I linked everything I could so it just shows that these accounts are linked to the buyer, they cannot access them.
Now, time to add gigs.
I'll add gigs in a lot of categories, I still don't know how quickly I'll attract buyers, but let's find out together. Listed 4 gigs for now, one YouTube thumbnail design gig at $5 with packages that add free thumbnails on bulk orders. Let's see how that goes there. The other gigs are Shopify/WordPress website improvement/design. I sourced the images from Google for the slides, I'm not sure if that's gonna work out or not. If I don't get a sale my first week, I'll jump on Photoshop/Premiere and either film high-quality introductory videos after a few sales to skyrocket the traffic or just add multiple custom image slides to start getting traction going if there are no sales at all on any gigs.
I set it so people can contact me for quotes for custom orders. My normal gigs are priced at $5-$15 in the first plan, and up to $100 with the most expensive gig's plan (big code changes on Shopify themes).
I'll add more gigs soon and will definitely start getting custom graphics soon, whenever I get some extra time next week. Let's see, I kind of half-assed this, will I get any traffic/sales? At the same time, looking into other ways to attract buyers, must check if there's a marketplace on Fiverr so I can reach out to potential buyers as well. If you're reasonably experienced in the Fiverr platform/freelancing in general, please assist me on my journey by providing some feedback so the forum can benefit from your words as well. I don't know shit about freelancing, anyone that can help speed up my performance in this thread will be a king. I want this thread to be interactive so everyone can share ideas and I can experiment with some stuff that might be completely unconventional. Why not make money and have fun at the same time? Lol.
