I've been doing local SEO for a couple clients now on a monthly retainer. I've had good success and know I can get results for clients, just stuck on where to get more clients in. So far I've been getting clients off referrals but want to expand my reach.

What's your favorite/best way to get more clients?

Thanks in advance :)

I would spend some heavy time doing some research on Google targeting localized keywords and spotting local listings that are far from being optimized.

Then, I will conduct a quick audit of both their GBP and website and pinpoint what issues, and build a plan accordingly.

Lastly, I would "pitch" this Local SEO Marketing Plan to them as @Carlos Campo says by email.

Alternatively, you can run PPC campaigns for this as well.

Make sure to have a beautiful and fully optimized landing page for conversions.

Cheers!!

how many cold emails do you send daily and how do you get those emails ?
Like 30 or more, it's a number game.

Also they need to be personalized, cold email blast might work rarely but not as much as manual.

You can get those emails searching for your niche in google, or just buy a database/scraper

Builtwith, apollo, etc

What is the response rate like from the 30 you send ?

do you get on the call afterwards or its all done through email ?

If personalized can be up to 50-70%. Make sure they know that you are a real person and you have visited the prospect website.

Yes, call always. The only purpose of cold email is not selling but get the prospect on the call. That means no links on the email even if it is a calendly link.

THANK YOU!

This is definitely what I needed, I was doing some cold email out reach but didn't do the website audit and what not so I didn't get too good of a response rate.

Going to try this, I'll post an update in a week or so :)

Good luck! I strongly recommend you to buy 'Cold Email Mastery' from cold email wizard. Not my product and not an affiliate but that course is really really good.

Everyone I know doing cold outreach has bought the course and their results skyrocketed (including me)

Join SEO related Facebook groups or you can buy that paid promotional post on their group.

I used to find businesses in the local area like hotels, bars, restaurants, Hospitals and reach them personally, it was a hard job but the success rate was good.

Optimizing your site and customer authority are the 2 main ways to get new customers to my sites. The higher my site is in the search engine, the more new clients I get. But they are cold. And credibility with existing customers can attract hotter people who will already start buying on a friend's advice.

Cold mails are good , but not that good as many of us use non relevant mails and reverse targeting !

What do you use to send the emails? Is there a specific software or are you just using a normal email?

Just use your local SEO skills to rank your own local SEO services.

Just joking.
I am also interested in this thread. Following ! :)

Here are some ideas I'd like to add:

1) Create some youtube videos explaining things about local SEO. You can then use them on your own website. This will generate a lot of trust in your prospects because 1) they will see u as an authority in your field 2) the fact that they see your face generates trust 3) you can showcase in your videos results you've got for other clients

2) audit websites and outreach to them, as others have suggested

3) Upwork + fiverr

4) Use the yellow pages or other business listings to find potential prospects + their contact info

5) if you have the power to rank local businesses, why not scale your profits with a rank and rent model?
Just create a site for a niche, rank it, and then sell the leads or rent the site.
You will probably earn more than by just being paid for doing SEO (It depends on the niches you choose).

By the way, can I ask you some stuff about local SEO?
It's a matter I'd like to master, and there re some things Im confused about.
Do u mind if I pm you?
Thanks mate!
Best of luck

6) offer white-label local SEO services to agencies.
Just pitch your services to all agencies or freelancers you can find on google.
Create a website targeting white-label related terms

This might be a good way to scale your revenue, since you take the pain of having to get clients yself off

Where are u from if i may ask?

Honestly, if I had my own clients I would not mind hiring a white-label

Cold email by far
That's became dramatically less effective over the past few years. Was popular and had better success rates about 5 years ago.

I'd say if you're trying to cross the $1 million ARR mark, the easiest way is to buy a bunch of top positions on Clutch. Even the $5k/mo spots pay off pretty quickly with one client.

Can't afford it? They have small packages too. Buy what you can afford. If you can't afford anything then go make money with something easier then come back.

My partner and I charge $15k/mo to manage organic social media in Toronto which pretty much covers our advertising costs in one month.

The fact no one has mentioned Clutch is very weird. I feel like some people like doing things the hard way just for the sake of doing them the hard way. At least one guy mentioned that his method was difficult.

Hey! Just checked this thread out again.

Would love to help, I am not a complete expert but have ranked a number of sites in pretty competitive niches.

I can definately give some insight into what I do :)
