It's a winning strategy imo.

The AI content writers always slowed me down. I'll have to give it a try again to see if they work better.

AI content takes time for sure. That's the biggest drawback.

I think there’s room for all sorts of different content. There are also various definitions of quality. For a while, the SERPS were filled with Pinterest crap in almost all niches.

My articles for this site are 150-200 words on average but they nail the search intent and the reader doesn’t need any more info.

It’s not high quality by any means but it does the job.

In most cases, it’s highly unlikely that more than 20% of you articles will bring in a significant amount of traffic. I’ve seen hundreds of listings of websites for sale and this is true for the majority of websites. Especially smaller sites.

A lot of websites also have just 1-2 articles bringing in the majority of traffic.

It’s hard to know which articles will get traffic when you’re planning and most of the articles are unlikely to get traffic.

So I usually put out a lot of content quickly and see what gets traffic. That way I know what articles to improve. If you have multiple sites, it’s much cheaper to do it this way.

Yeah, I know long-form content gets more ad impressions, but as far as I understand OP's strategy is:

#1 Get traffic
#1 Add more content to pages that drive traffic
#3 Increase ad revenue

I will bang out the next articles with 300-600 words. That might increase efficiency by 200-300%.

Crossed 17,000 pageviews. I now have 220 posts live. I'll add 100 more by end of April. I can also see a new competitor who's targeting some of my keywords. Their articles are much longer and better than mine so I may need to buy a couple of links if I get outranked.

It's probably the keyword research. The content doesn't matter as much if the keywords have no competition. So far, I haven't seen any problem with AI content ranking. I've never used spun content so I have no idea if that ranks.

For someone who has made very little money in his life with online marketing, being told that this successful site is just a side project makes a huge impression.

Your journey is fascinating and inspires me to take action, but I have some clarification before starting.

first thing to do is find about 100 keywords with little competition in the SERPs. If I understood correctly you would do it with a tool that suggests searches on google (google autocomplete) and then for each of the keywords you look at the SERP.

Why do you search for the real answer to the questions of the chosen keyword and write it manually? in my little experience with AI writing, the software almost always finds the correct answer by itself. do you think satisfying search intent is really so important that you have to manually edit an answer and do researches? Isn't it better to do it only for the articles that rank with the initial AI generated 300 words? (and which then we need to expand)
Also, the first 100 articles in how many days would you publish them? As soon as possible (for example in a week) or slowly over maybe 2 months? is it important to spread them temporarily or the sooner the better?

i mean, the site was ranking and all, but google deindexed my AI articles, and even after checking all articles with copyright tools, I couldn't find any good reason why they were deindexed :/

I recommend going for an English keyword. Traffic and revenue opportunities are much better. There are millions of keywords that you can target in English that are easy to rank.

For this site specifically, I selected keywords that had 0 competition. Nobody else was targeting these queries. Nobody else was answering the question. The questions are pretty specific and the answers are pretty specific too.

I don't consider Allintitle or DR. I definitely consider search intent. That's the most important part. If the search intent isn't' satisfied, even if you rank #1, you won't be there for long.

Not sure what plugins you're referring to. I don't use any tools besides Google Autocomplete if that's what you mean.

I use regular free themes. Nothing fancy. I have just a couple of categories but those are for my internal use and they have nothing to do with the site structure. There's no organization as such. It's a standard blogroll type layout. Latest posts on the homepage. No custom pages/elementor crap etc.

I don't think the site has any "feeling" as such. lol. Silo structure etc are important when you're going after tough keywords and need a lot of contextual relevance and internal links. These keywords are super easy to rank and don't need much to get to top 3.

In this case, the AI can't know the answer. Also, if I don't provide the exact answer, people will hit the back button and check out a different result. It took me maybe 10 seconds to find the correct answer so it's not a big deal in terms of time.

About the publishing, I can't really remember but I think I finished publishing all the posts in a week or so. All at once. I don't know if there's a difference between posting all of them at once or dripping them over a couple of months. For 100 articles, I don't think it makes any difference. If you're posting 10,000, it may raise some flags with Google. But I'm not certain.

There's not much to know really. With a new site, you have two options, Adsense and Ezoic. Adsense is trash. Ezoic has its problems but it's the only viable ad network until you have 50,000-60,000 visitors a month. If this is going to be your main project, you can have a site monetized with ads + affiliate. Usually, ads will make more money than affiliate for regular amazon affiliate type sites.

I'm not sure which businesses you're referring to but I do have other sites that are monetized with ads + affiliate that get most of my focus. I'll leave it at that.

this is a real shame. I speak the language of a first world country well. Not to be heavy, but why don't you recommend it? I understand that in English there are a lot more searches, but there is also a lot more competition .. I would have imagined that for an "automatic balancing of the marketing world" I shouldn't find the same difficulty in the foreign language as in the English language? Or even less, since all the guides that teach you how to do good SEO are all in English ...

Opinion on use the google keyword planner to check keyword traffic? that's what I've been doing (selecting keywords that show 100-1000 or 10-100 MS), however, have you ever tried using one that keyword planner shows 0 MS for and still got traffic from it?

oh another idea: i have a foreign language website that is completely useless (its about making money online lol). it was my first ever website and it gets some incidental views, but nothing special and nothing that earns.
I was thinking that I could test your technique with it with random articles about good keywords that I find. I would make these articles on random topics based on which good keyword I find. If the keyword I find are not competitive at all, I could still rank even if the niche of the website is different, i guess.. (also I only have 37 pages indexed on this website so I could completely rebrand it into general purpuse with just 30 articles, and the website domain is not niche specific).
what do you think?
