Yes, it seems like it. They're forced to shut down. The installed app will continue to work, at least for a while. For how long? Your guess is as good as mine. There's this YT video downloader app for Android called Videoder. It was updated last in 2020 and it still works without any issue.

I remembered, you asked this and i just stumbled upon these two alternatives:
https://newpipe.net/https://skytube-app.com/
I haven't tried them yet since Vanced is still working, but hopefully at least one of these will work, when and if Vanced won't anymore.

If this news is true, it's disappointing to many users who depend on features in YouTube Vanced. Alternatives such as NewPipe, LibreTube, or Revanced can be considered for background playback and ad-free playback without YouTube Premium.
