Who is it for?
This is a carefully thought-of long-term business plan. If you're a programmer or web developer who knows about and is passionate about cryptocurrencies and blockchain in general, I have a lucrative opportunity for you.
Who am I?
I am a frontend designer. I am also a graphic designer and copywriter. So all the UI needs are taken care of.
What is this project?
Anonymity-focused cryptocurrencies-based marketplace for buyers and sellers of professional services.
Can you elaborate?
A simple marketplace platform where users can purchase services from service providers. More like Freelancer. com than Amazon. com, this platform will allow for escrowing funds, automated agreements, privacy protection, seller safeguards, reward systems, and more features. The platform will be largely not-for-profit and using the workforce, will also work towards furthering the cause of DeFi and crypto real-world usage and adoption. The platform will additionally tackle the common pain point of freelancing platforms: new but skilled freelancers not getting enough exposure without paying premiums.
Hmm, mildly interesting. But will be hard to do tbh.
Remember OpenBazaar.org? Know Freelancer.com? Great. OpenBazaar is/was an open-source project. The backend will be similar to it. All the APIs and code related to handling multiple-cryptocurrency transactions is available openly on GitHub. Freelancer will more or less be a good reference for the rest of the development.
Wait, how will we make money? I like community projects but I need to buy a BMW too.
There will be no premium accounts, paid promotions, etc. on the platform to make money from. You'll understand how the platform will sustain itself when you read the whitepaper.
1. The first channel of income will be a 0.5% (or 1%) service charge levied on all deposits and a 0.5% (or 1%) charged levied on all withdrawals. Combined, we'll charge 1-2% for all transactions. But, behold.
2. The main source of income will be developing our own token (which will promise faster transactions on the platform) later on. Given this project is built professionally, we can expect a lot of cryptocurrency users to join. As a result, it will be the perfect market to release our own token. This token will focus solely on transaction speed and low transaction fees to enable microtransactions, and will naturally be more lucrative to use than other tokens on the platform. This is how we'll make money. Naturally, this will be a legit token (perhaps with its own blockchain focused on enabling microtransactions) that could be bought and traded externally.
3. I have plans to pitch this platform on crowdfunding websites to gather the funds that will support our development cycles. However, to do that, I first need a barebones platform.
Wew, big plans. Why do we do this, isn't the world working just fine?
The underlying core vision behind this project will always be propagating the mass adoption of cryptocurrencies as a real-world, practical means of transaction. That's what it was all about when Satoshi first published the Bitcoin whitepaper, wasn't it? A lot of projects and even businesses are now transacting in cryptocurrencies, but to truly liberate people, it's important that buyers and sellers can buy and sell professional services using crypto. These are usually small amount transactions - $50-200. Facilitating this is the need of the hour.
Alright, how do I get in?
I have the whitepaper and the milestones ready. I can share them with you ASAP to help you make your decision. Let me know in PM here or on Telegram (@hardusername). Given you have the necessary skills (I'd prefer Golang or a similarly web-optimized language), this JV is forever 50/50. We will hire others, they will come and go, but the two of us will be partners. I have pretty solid skills in a number of disciplines including web development to ensure we spend as little time as possible to build it. I aim to release the pre-alpha within a couple of months from the day of starting. Get in touch soon, before someone else grabs this opportunity. I am also in talks with developers on major cryptocurrency groups in Telegram - the only problem is that if I go that route, I'll need to limit the platform to a particular blockchain, which isn't something I want but surely a decent last resort.
Any initial costs?
Yes. The website hosting and domain. DigitalOcean droplet, perhaps. All these costs will ideally be split 50-50. If I front all of this money and you only develop, we'll change it to a 60-40 JV.
