Hi, so I've been lurking here for a while, I'm fascinated by the idea of making money online, tried some things out, but always fail, because I lose motivation to keep going and pushing forward, so I decided to pick one thing out, create a thread about it so it kinda motivates me more to keep going.

I done some dropshipping more than 1 year ago, and stopped due to a lack of motivation and failures. So let me catch all of you up with what I have done, I had about 5 stores, first store of mine looked like sh%t and I didn't get any orders, I reached out to influencers that didn't have a lot of followers ( around 1-5k) and asked them to do a promotion, and if I get an order I will pay them an agreed % of profit, only one influencer accepted it but it was so terrible that as I said it just didn't get any sales and probably got around 20 visitors.

After this I thought that I need some time to educate myself more about creating the store e.t.c., so I just forgot about my 1-st store and started to watch some youtube videos. My second store looked a lot better I marketed it through facebook ads ( I think that was a big mistake because I didn't had a lot of money at that time, and as you'll all know facebook ads requires a lot of money at the beginning) got a few orders and boom I was in profit, then I realised that in order to get my payment provider (stripe) to send me the payments I had to get some documents from my government(I think it was the document where it says where you live) It took me more than a week to get it, so that really put a pause on everything because I needed this money to keep going. After I got this document, and got the payment from stripe, I logged back into my facebook ads manager and saw that it was asking for proof of indentity and I couldn't provide it because the account was fake, that was the time when I realised that you can only have one facebook account with your real first name and last name (I used fake account because I heard that a lot of facebook accounts are getting ban hammers for advertising, I use facebook a lot and thought that I couldn't risk my own account so I created a new one, at the time I didn't knew that it only bans your business account not your facebook account) so I hoped on my main account and created same ad sets that I had on my fake account, turned them on but couldn't get any more sales. So that crushed my motivation for that store and I stopped working on this store. Probably got like 5 orders and made some profit, nothing major. But the thing that crushed me the most, a few months down the line I saw a youtube video, where the dude did a case study on a dropshipping store that made 600k in a few months, and guess what I saw, that was the exact same product that I was selling, and I started selling it first when the competition was very low. Probably if I have kept going and learning more I would've done it too.

My other stores got around 10-20 orders, mostly from instagram theme pages, tried out google ads, it was profitable at first but after some time it died out.

In total with all my dropshipping stores I'am probably in a break even zone.

Btw all my stores were one product stores, and all the items were shipped straight from aliexpress.

So my goal for now is to create a new store and reach 1k in profit a month, and stop being lazy.

I saw @TraderBane journey and it motivated me a lot, if anyone hadn't seen it go look it up ,here's the link https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/dropshipping-journey-to-3k-a-month.1262694/

My game plan for now would be to find a product, create a store, create an ad copy, and first advertise it on instagram theme pages.

First thing is to find a product. I will update as soon as I found one. (I hope that this is not the last message frome me on this thread :D)

If anyone has some tips it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading this, let's see how far I can go.

I just got my ebay and esty account blocked today due to dropshipping from Ali. What platforms do you sell on?

Good luck!

I am essentially at the same stage as you. Had a 2 month break for other stuff. Now trying again and seeing how this goes.

Let me know if you would like an accountability buddy (aka me).

Good luck OP. But be careful, from what I have seen promoting on theme pages doesn't seem to be profitable nowadays. You would be better off trying to run ads on Instagram imo. Try researching a little before approaching any theme pages.

Thank you.Yeah, I think that there's a lot less quality theme pages that there was few years ago, so it's just harder to find the good ones. I changed up my strategy, I will not use theme pages for the start, I will try to reach small influencers and send them my product, so they do a review about it, I think that that's a way better way to go, less risk involved and probably a little bit cheaper , because my product only costs about 10$.

Yeah sure, how can I contact you?

If you live in GB, or USA. Than maybe you can succeed if you put the work in, this is 100%.

But..

If you live in eastern countries you will face a lot of walls. I don't want to make you feel unmotivated, its just my experience, about dropshipping.

Its very hard now to sell with 0 stock. Why ? This is something you will told me along your journey if you are from an Eastern country.

I did this 6 years, through "fidget spinner" hype. I know what i'm saying.

Good Luck, i will follow the thread, to help if i can.

Good luck OP. I am also doing some form of dropshipping. If it helps, I am keen to collaborate as accountability partners to keep us in check.

selling dropshipping courses is more profitable than dropshipping business lol

Dropshipping is so hard nowadays, much harder than even a couple of years ago. When everybody uses the same source (AliExpress/Alibaba) you can't really go lower than your cost.

The problem is that a lot of these suppliers already have their own established stores, either on eBay or on the web. So in fact, you don't even compete with other dropshippers. In many cases you end up competing with your own suppliers xDDDD
