Has anyone noticed! Recently I created a Google listing and listing verified through a postal code but after getting verified status came into get verified through video call. Can anyone help me how can I create listing without a video call

Sadly that is becoming the new norm, in most cases video is even the main and only option.

This is what I'm reading too. I wonder how difficult it would be to "fake" these video sessions? In reality couldn't you just have a single office and print out different signage everytime for the verification Lol.

I haven't tried it but definitely it is plausible, video verification ain't bullet proof.

Here's some discussion with other leadgens on this topic. Seems like they want to cut out the folks who are too lazy to even have documentation. 34min mark is the video verification.

Yes I noticed this. Very hard to fake but possible. No you can't just take a video of your basement and say this is my office. Supposedly you have to show the surrounding buildings. So no more fake GMBs 2000 miles away. And I would be very surprised if they don't check your phone's ip against where you claim to be (you claim you are taking the video in Michigan but your phone ip is in New York)
I anticipate soon enough someone here will figure out how to fake the video and start selling GMBs.

Based on the videos I've seen it doesn't seem too difficult. Use a desktop for the google meet verification with a local proxy + have contracts/invoices ready with the logo.

where have you seen these videos? I would like to check them out.
The video verification pop up that I received specifically said you have to verify using your phone. It showed a QR code that you have to scan with your phone. And it specifically said you have to show surrounding buildings.

The video I posted above had someone explain their verification process, which seemed to differ from yours a bit. In particular, they were allowed to use desktop or mobile.

Will you attempt to "cheese" the verification process? It doesn't seem too difficult since I'm presuming these will be outsourced indian workers dealing with it.

That's crazy. D: I hate Google

It depends on your niche but you can do things to satisfy the video verification. And if it's not going well, pretend like you're losing the person and that it's skipping and blame the battery saver mode on your phone and hang up :D

Have you tried that yourself or read/watched it somewhere? I'm very eager to learn more about this.

Certain businesses don't require an office. For those ones, you can do video verification. Let's say you have a home office with your documents or you're a mobile business. It just has to be applicable to your niche. If you're doing handyman work, and you use a home address, can you pull it off? Probably if you have some tools in your garage.

Good point. I wonder if blackhat services will spring up offering help with this...
