Are websites with boosted metrics worth anything?

I see many sellers offering links from websites with really good metrics.
But most of these sites have their metrics boosted artificially.
Typical:
1. Someone buys an expired domain
2. Throws thousands of links at it
3. The metrics goes up
4. He starts selling backlinks from that website

But I am wondering:
Are these metrics mean anything?
Does links from these boosted metrics websites worth anything?

See attached example metrics from Ahrefs, how they boosted the DR to 90 with 1.000.000 backlinks from 150.000 domains, until everything went to sh*t (I guess because of google update and ban on the PBN) so it dropped to 200.000 linksfrom 13.000 domains. The DR is dropping slower, from 90 it's down to 81.

DR 90 is not easy to achieve just by boosting to that extreme level. It's that a domain by itself and not a subdomain?

That was just an extreme example to show what I am talking about.
Most of the sites I see are boosted until 60-70+
Basically the sellers make their PBN look more valuable by boosting it's DR from 30-40 (or from nothing) to 60-70+

The question remains:
Are websites with boosted metrics worthless, in terms of link juice?
Or their metrics (even if artificially boosted) comes with real link juice, so I should not care how they achieved their metrics?

They're still worth something to someone. People use sites with barely average metrics for backlinks, so a domain with a DR of anything above 50 is still useable.

Yes, but the sellers charge premium price for these pages with extra high metrics.
If the page only "worth something" as you said, then I should pay only "someting" instead of the premium price.

You can negotiate that price if you can contact the seller. That's a big if, but sometimes doable. If you can, something like "The backlinks & referring domains have almost cut in half and the DR has dropped by nearly 10% as of late. There's no guarantee that won't happen again after I purchase it. I'm willing to part with those concerns for this price", and then list your offer.

Is it worth that price they're asking for it? Probably not. Godaddy auctions really limits your ability to contact a seller. However, the domain(s) still have some value.

Oh, to avoid confusion. I am not talking about buying the domain.
I am talking about backlink sellers who own these pages.
I was about to buy links (guest posts and niche edits) when I noticed that many websites come with these "fishy" metrics.

The purpose of such site owners is to fool new bloggers. Someone experienced will only choose high quality links from authority websites. As a buyer, you should also do full research.

This is really common but the purpose to this site might depend in what you are looking for, I know some people might do some testing, sometimes is cheap because of the methods the use, and if you don't know about this some people might be disappointed by the final results.

So, can we say that the value of links is lower from "pages with artificially boosted metrics" than the value of links from "pages with organically earned metrics"?

The most important metric is traffic. If the site gets organic traffic, then you're good to go.

I don't take such sites seriously and won't patronize whatever links they sell especially if they don't rank for anything or are not pulling in any search traffic.

Those are the two most important metrics I check for when buying guest posts. As for PBNs, I know where to go to when/if needed. I don't need the DR/DA of the PBNs to be 100 to know they're of good quality.

Even though these sites are boosted, they have the necessary metrics that could prove useful to your ranking push. so use them appropriately.
