I'm looking to create my own subreddit since I found it difficult to place links in other moderated subreddits.
Any trick about how to grow a subreddit from scratch?

Same, I want to know this. I'm trying to grow a sub reddit to promote dating offers. Some tips would be useful

Promote Your subreddit by engaging with Users.
Create Link Submission to your subreddit.
Allow Users to Post and respond in your subreddit.
Advertise on Reddit.
The Most popular external links are videos.

There is no one specific way to grow a Reddit community. However, some things that may help include using engaging and relevant content, being active and engaging with users, and promoting the subreddit offline and on other social media platforms. And finally by consistently submitting quality content which your users enjoy.

Cross posting can be helpful, but your sub reddit must have quality content, frequent posts by real users and high engaging discussion. Otherwise it can be buried.

We should create a group of support for sub reddit admins, this way it would be easier for us to grow. Anyone interested?

I am pretty confident these kinds of groups are not allowed on this forum. If you want to work with others, it should be a Joint Venture. If you just want support there is a whole sub forum dedicated to reddit here now. You can also purchase services from the marketplace if you just want upvotes.

Not sure if it falls under mentoring, which is, in fact, not allowed here.
But why prevent a group chat between people who want to help each other? @BassTrackerBoats probably knows.

The forum used to be filled with them and they led to tons of scams. There was even an official subforum for groups if my research is correct. They did not provide enough value to the forum and only caused the forum more problems. Discussions should be held on the forum. Sales of products and services should be held on forum through the official channels. These private groups just don't fit with BHW.
