I know this isn't a medical forum, but does anybody else have these? And if so, how the FUCK do you get rid of them? I've tried drinking more water, creams, and even put sliced cucumbers on my face like an idiot. I'm seriously convinced that prolonged periods of screen time is the cause.

My girlfriend has started calling me her "cute little racoon". I guess this is one of the cons to internet marketing?

I have copied this from a snippet:

Although age, heredity, and sleepy eyes are leading causes of under eye bags, Dr. Nakamura tells us, "there are many less common causes such as sinus infections, thyroid or kidney problems, hormonal imbalances, food or dust allergies, iron deficiency, excessive caffeine, and smoking."

Sleep! It works like wonders, atleast for me. You need 8-9 hrs atleast, per day. I know people will come after me saying I am lazy, but hey, it has worked for me for over 12 years now.

The most common causes of eye bags are stress, depression, iron deficiency, less sleep, and allergies or infections. You should take some rest and relax.

Doesn't seem to do anything for me, unfortunately. Oddly enough, if I oversleep, sometimes they're worse :/
Blue light filter. Makes everything 1000x easier on your eyes.
I have all of my screens set to the minimum brightness but I've never tried this - thanks!
You are a millionaire, pay a professional for a real answer I guess
I have consulted multiple professionals. They all say the same thing - get more sleep, stay hydrated, don't drink alcohol. Literally the only quick-fix is a cosmetic operation, and hell no to that, that's how you end up looking like Michael Jackson in 08.

Yeah I do think overworking may be a factor as well. Thanks

I don't know if Blue Light Glasses work. Anyone know an actual pair that work and aren't crap?
No refferal links please :D

Here’s a clue: Sunlight has a few hundred times brightness then our average monitor.. Yet, we don’t get blind if we go out in the sunlight (unless someone is a vampire or something).

It’s just another scam (it might actually filter some of the frequencies, but that might not be necessary atall).

If you're already getting enough sleep, fresh air, exercise, and eating healthy, you can try vitamin D.

Since we are indoors a lot, we are especially deficient at this time of the year and even in the summer. Vitamin D is one of the few supplements that everyone can take every day.

I got them few years ago from smoking too much weed

mate 8-9 hrs sleep now i know how you write good posts

I would suspect that restful sleep is the issue.
You might wanna take some days to just get some extra sleep and rest.
When I really keep my energy and focus high, it has similar detrimental effects.
I actually have white around my eyes, which is some kind of vitiligo, and sometimes people suggest that I might have leprosy, or something. (pft)

Based on everything else you've said, and tried...
The only new suggestion I can offer is that you should maybe look into getting glasses.
If your eyes are straining that hard, you may not even realize it, because it can be subtle and progressive.
I sit close enough to my monitor that it's not a problem, but if I lay back in bed, and try to watch something from my TV or play a game with my niece, I have to put-on glasses, because otherwise the fine details on the screen actually make me queesy over time.
Back-in-the-day, people used to suffer damage to their vision from reading in candlelight, from what I understand.
I definitely notice that it helps to get some sunshine in my eyes.
So, being in the dark, straining our eyes, we need more light and glasses for when it doesn't readily recover, I think.

My vision has temporarily improved by drinking Chlorophyll and Fulvic Acid, as well as caffeine (sometimes).
Carrot Juice with Ginger and Turmeric and Lemon might be nice (bolthouse farms), because I guess Vitamin A is good for your eyes, supposedly.
It might be helpful to start taking eye health supplements, and just see what happens.
You can just go to a local vitamin shoppe or similar supplement store, and pick a few products to take each day.
  • Get Sleep
  • Get Glasses and Sunshine
  • Get Supplements
Best to you in figuring-it-out... :)
