Question -> Facebook Group & Facebook Pages

I am a little bit confusing about facebook fan page and facebook group..i want to know what is the different between facebook groups and facebook fan page..? Cause my think both of them are the same function to get member/ leads that have the same interest in something.

SO...My question is, when we are using facebook groups and facebook fan pages..?

Group - After 5K members loses messaging feature.
Fan Page - Can message all members (Send an update) no matter how many, can also update status and will appear on your friends homepages. Check the Facebook section of this forum, there is a lot of info on this already.

I agree Mike, why not make good use of it, one could take off bigger than the other! You can sue both abilities to message all members on the news feed or an individual message on smaller groups! There's some great ideas and ways to monetize them! Good luck whatever path you choose to take!

Sorry for my horrible english.
But facebook did something. Now you can not make new status messages in your fan page. Facebook is blocking it now (if you have more than 20k members or something like that)

The reason is because large fan pages are asked to be authenticated, and verified, pages main reason is for businesses and not just for random pages, so if you verify successfully you can continue posting, if not you get barred.

fb blocks status updates for pages with 20k+ fans now?
or is it just for unverified pages?
