To turn off personalization is to type &pws=0 at the end of your search query, which turns off personalization.

2nd Hack

2a)Adding ‘ncr’ to the end of the domain (google.com/ncr) which means you won’t be redirected to a local google site, google.fr for example.

You'll notice at the bottom of the page, Google is showing you your geo-location. Meaning, despite the US URL showing, the results you get will be country-specific regardless.

2b)Now add on ?gl=us at the end so that the URL shows google.com/?gl=us and press enter (technically speaking you don't need to add the "/", Google will throw it in automatically upon hitting enter). You'll notice at the bottom of the page, that Google has removed the country previously shown.




So to sum up,

1) first visit google.com/ncr

2) use gl=us [country code like us,UK,in ] and pws=0 in your URL

sample url = https://www.google.com/search?q=cars

modified url = https://www.google.com/search?q=cars&gl=us&pws=0

You can copy-paste modified URL ,and replace cars with your keyword.

Before Knowing this trick,I had to use VPN every time, that was so much of pain-in-ass

I think you don't need to go to /ncr site.
you can just search your keyword and replace the strings after the keywords with the "&num=100&gl=us&pws=0"
and the results would be a slightly different for the first 10 or first 100 rankings.

But I'm not too sure about it.

I've used the NCR approach before but they didn't know that I was actually being shown local results instead of US results.

It simplified some of my research.

Usually, I use a paid SEO tool but this is definitely a solid gold advice for people who don't have the budget to use paid tools when doing keyword or competitor research.
