Worried that backlink sources might one day run out

I'm building backlinks and having a good time right now. But I am also worried about things constantly - now, for the first time ever, about backlinks.

I'm worried that the places to build backlinks on (organically) might one day run out.

How do you guys cope with this?
Obviously I am doing all of the standard things (social media sites, etc.) and scouting out the competition. But Alexa is shutting down, and I like to register my site at those places for backlinks (if you have more of these sites, please post them).

What do you guys do to deal with the problem that, one day, backlink sources might run out?
How many backlinks do you get, before the task becomes daunting (or you achieve the desired results of high SERPs etc) ?

Bit of an extreme example there. So extreme that your original message was lost
- The sun will run out of hydrogen and explode, but not in my/websites lifetime(s)
- Won't be anyone's problem because they'll all be dead

What will you do if the sources run out? Sure, there are links now, but you need them to go up slowly and consistently. If, suddenly, you are getting no more backlinks, then surely the website will die. If nothing else, it will stop growing, and that's just as bad!

If one way is close then another way will open. You can't stock the backlinks so don't worry about that

If there are no more links, your website will be the least of your worries.
No links = no internet.

I use ahrefs.com batch tool to organize data scraped using scrapebox.com. This will organize my URLs by the highest DR. My virtual assistant then goes in on my lists to see which are possible to post, and outreach for those that cost. I call this data mining for some digital gems. And I always find new gems, never worried about running out of link sources.

What sources are you talking here?.
Unless you buy links you will eventually loose most of backinks to nofollow or they will be removed by the site owner.
Free backlinks are temporary.

as your site ages, backlinks become less relevant. also, as time goes, you will tend to go after very difficult backlinks that cost money. you will realize that paid backlinks deliver a lot more value then the backlinks you create. guest posts from sites with real traffic will always be there
