The update would be simple:
buyer with negative review must to leave in review the transaction ID or provide transactional email on seller request via PM in 24h

Otherwise negative review can be deleted by reporting to moderation
Many of us are selling via website so how we can detect troll on forum?

By negative review do you mean honest testimonial :D
Only buyers can leave review. Some of people can troll your thread, because you refused to sell them stuff in the past.
So it's not honest testimonial ;)
How you can know if he is legit or not legit buyer then?

makes sense

Pretty sure you can just report invalid reviews right now and the mod team will handle it.

I don't know if it's valid or invalid.
I asked mod in report to ask "reviewer" for transaction ID. I have answer that staff cannot verify it and it's the seller case.
So staff, please give us a tool in rules update ;)
So we ask buyers to deliver transaction ID ;)

This seems more like you’re having a personal issue rather than a suggestion.
Both, I remember I refused to sell the product to this buyer for acting rude and agressive.
Then after 6 months I have a negative review from him. Maybe he bought via website or maybe he is trolling me now ;)

I ignore it for now, it's wasting energy, even it's harming my sales.

If you’re sure that this person is posting negative reviews for no reason, contact support with all the proof that you have.

Ideally, they should ask the buyer to prove that they’ve bought your service but it’s their call.

Protection extends both ways.

Even though some BHW products deserve negative reviews, this time I support @Lukmat as there are some really annoying people around. They don't buy, they have no presence on the forum. They literally are random dudes but they act as if they know everything better and they leave stupid comments

The mods should handle fake thread bumps, fake order confirmations, fake reviews (both positive and negative). They just bring down the quality of BSTs. Some people avoid BSTs which have too many order confirmations from newbies (which look fake based on some parameters). I hope all these things will be handled in Marketplace 2.0.

This idea is one sided, if a tid is required for bad reviews, it should be required for good reviews too. The thing is that it can easily be manipulated by the seller so it doesn't make any sense.
At the end, not everything can or should be handled manually by the mods. People should have common sense, and sellers should know how to handle bad reviews (even fake ones). It's a basic business management skill.

Agreed. This was in fact my first thought when I read OP’s suggestion.

This part, I don’t agree with. We see so many suggestions being implemented for buyer protection, it makes perfect sense for us sellers to ask protection for ourselves as well. I’ve never had anyone leave false negative reviews on my thread but that does not mean that I can’t empathize with OP. Handling fake negative reviews is for sure a basic business management skill but the first step would be to try and get it addressed by the site’s staff if possible. The second would be to call that buyer out for posting a fake negative review.

I looked up this thread from last November, I think there are some good suggestions there about how a business can handle fake bad reviews in a way that will benefit the business rather than hurting it.

Just my opinion though.

Yes but if there’s an option to have it removed by the site’s staff (provided you have enough proof), why even bother going down the ORM route?

Shills leaving positive reviews should also have to do this too; must to leave in review the transaction ID or provide transactional email on seller request via PM in 24h IMO.

Because if a seller is hadling a bad review in a great way, it will make me (and i'm sure others too) more comfortable doing business with them. I don't say fake bad reviews should be ignored 100% of the time, just that it doesn't have to hurt the seller. Also, positive and negative reviews should be held to the same standard.
And I bet most sellers will never want their happy buyers go through verification just to give a good review.

For sure. If it was a genuine bad review, yeah the first thing to do as a seller would be to own up to it. But if I have someone who I’m pretty sure I’ve never dealt with, post a negative review on my thread, I’d first ask them to prove that they’ve used my service. And in most cases, these “prove it to me” posts go unanswered as the guy who posted the negative review never logs in after having posted his fake review. My second option would be to have it reported to try and get it removed as it’s not a genuine reflection of my service. My third and last option would be to make it known that this was a fake review posted probably by a competitor or a troll.

This has never happened to me but I’ve seen plenty being posted especially on SEO service related threads and this is how it plays out.

All I’m saying is it’d be nice if the staff would step in (I’m sure they already do when exceedingly sketchy reviews are concerned).

I’ve already said that I don’t agree with the OP on this one. This thread is clearly about a personal issue. And for sure, negative reviews shouldn’t be removed just because there wasn’t a TID attached and there shouldn’t be a site wide imposition to include proof of purchase when you’re posting reviews, negative or positive.

Positive reviews that seem sketchy and when reported are investigated by the staff. All I’m saying is, the same should apply for negative reviews, if they don’t do that already.

I'm convinced.

This was mentioned again just because I felt that it supportes the previous part of my comment.
