Which one to trust?

neither. No keyword research tool can give you accurate information. I created a niche website last year around 8 keywords (3 keywords with fierce competition and 5 keywords with easy competition) and the only keyword that my website ranks for is one of the keywords with fierce competition, while the easy keywords are not even in top 100.

Keyword research tools are garbage. ALL of them. Just do manual keyword research if you want to have a chance of making money with SEO. Just my honest advice...

in retrospect, I think I've been a bit harsh on SEO tools. I mean, I still think they're not 100% accurate, but they're not garbage either, like I said back then.

Don't worry about renewing your subscription, ahrefs is a great tool to have

It is volume and chance game , if you target the low KD keyword, you may have 25% chance to rank your article in top 20 if the content is ok, if targeting the high KD
keyword, you still have around 8% chance to rank your article, just fiinding a target website, use Ahref or Semrush to analyze its keywords ranking, you will find out some
interesting thing.

Impossible to know without more research.

Ahrefs is very very complete, but you should do additional tests, like adwords kw pricing, etc
