Is blogging dead in 2022?

Blogging never die only the algorithm changes
Yes, I created this thread to rescue blogging for 2022.
Ever year theres a thead , is seo dead , is blogging dead etc

i always add a blog to every site even if its not on show anywhere on the main site ,it brings traffic and as long as the rest oh the site is visible from the blog you should get more traffic to the site

No. Far from it. I added blog to my business website this month, check the hockey stick spike in traffic:
I have only added 17 blog posts as of today.
So add a blog to whatever website you have if you can.

Blogging is definitely not dead, in fact, it will only grow and show its full potential in the upcoming years. It's great for updating the site's content regularly and for adding many keywords to the site. If done properly, it can generate a lot of traffic and money eventually.

No but blogging when combined with podcast can do wonders

Blogs are powerful it's never die in fact they will grow day by day. blogger should know how to use his/ her content for social media purposes with more attention.

Targeting is the whole point of blogging for business. If your content isn't targeted at whatever you want to convert, then it doesn't make sense (unless it's a hobby blog just for fun).
Sometimes hobby blogs do better than serious blogs. So something can work for anyone.

Nice curve ! But without some metrics to see, it's all relative !
Yes it all relative, untill tie Lopez and John cristani flashes Lamborghini. Then people start coughing money, to be honest with you.

Sometimes hobby blogs do better than serious blogs. So something can work for anyone.
Agreed. Some people are very passionate about there hobby and they convert better.

Blogging is as popular as ever, for sure.

That's true, in fact. Most successful blogs began as hobbies too.

What I meant by hobby is something you don't really update often, etc.

No, is is not dying anytime soon, it still relevant in different ways. Nowadays, buzz is all about content marketing and how multiple pieces of content spread across different channels can profit your own website. It's not just about blog posts presently it's about different content pieces. Blogging is changing and competition is increasing. If you want to get great result from blogging then optimize your website for search engines like Google.

Blog is a page with blog posts. I have 20+ and counting blog posts , some of them are ranking on page one for the keywords I am targeting bringing in the search traffic.

OK thanks for the explanation. Did you target low comp keywords

In my opinion the question shouldn't be "Is blogging dead?", it should be "How to please people nowadays with blogging?", because I've noticed that it's not that blogging is dead, it's that people are getting lazier and fast pacing (blame bad parenting for that). More and more people are looking for fast solutions for pretty much anything, and they don't have the patience to read things that won't entertain them, then they go for places like YouTube and Facebook. So at least in my case I add some sense of humor and open with a short history every time I write an article, and even in remote times (over a decade ago) I was already doing this and getting compliments from friends for being a good writer, when actually I was just trying to write info in an entertaining and simpler way, while doing my best to not kill grammar. Now, as a personal matter, I just need to know how to write shorter content that is both good for the stupid Google and for the visitors. I believe that's why nowadays YouTube is so popular, it's for the same reason that in the past TV became so popular: because people are in a hurry, wants to be entertained and need info at the same time. TV basically "died" when the internet became popular, specially after YouTube became popular, but now you see that YouTube became TV 2.0, boring, full of nonsense and extremely censored, one more reason to say that blogging is not going to die, because blogging is like P2P cryptocurrencies, it's decentralized, because you not even need a domain and a hosting company to publish a blog, you could use Zeronet or something like that. Even with a hosting company and domain, it's still more decentralized than depending on a platform like Facebook and Quora, so the content is actually yours, even if they take your site down, you can still republish your content somewhere else.

Blogging can never really die. If you do it right, you'll get great results.

Not dead but the approach needs to be different. Like you have to work with expired domains, good quality pbns, spend on indexing and so on.

I have a very popular blog that I've been running since 2006. It gets about 120k pageviews a month.

When the pandemic started, I launched a new podcast.

The podcast is a better business in every way. I'm now doing 450k downloads per month after 20 months.

The CPM's are much higher and the engagement is off the charts.
