At this point, they're not helpful nor relevant to BHW at all. Just a waste of space. After three years, everyone has an opinion, and it's not going to change.

Nonetheless, this thread is an informal "petition" to restrict the creation of new threads containing COVID-19 related topics.

Covid is an ongoing and constantly developing concern to all with significant changes to governments reactions since 2019. No matter what your political or ideological interests it’s had a high impact on both business and the way people decide to run their lives, by some calculations moving adoption of the online world forward 10 years in a relatively short period of time. Not just significant to our industry but having massive impact on the lives of many Covid-19 is undeniably a topic of our time.

Later today we will release guidelines around ongoing covid discussions on BlackHat World. Even though they represent less than 0.5% of active discussions and significantly less of discussions over all on the forum they have started to divide and move discussion away from our core digital marketing related topics in a similar way to political discussions (which are also prohibited).

The TLDR will be where it’s a discussion about the impact of covid on your business or marketing efforts it’s ok. Where it’s 2 members having a flame war about having a jab or discussions around sudo-science then we’d rather you took that sort of conversation elsewhere.
The impact of Covid-19 has been felt deeply and no one has been untouched by it. We’re a forum for digital marketing not medical or political concerns. There are other places you can voice those opinions we’d rather you didn’t do it here.
