[Question] Should my backlinks fit my e-commerce category?

Hello everyone, I had a quick question,

If I have an online business that sells tech items, should my backlinks come from websites that are in a similar industry or can I just go ahead and purchase any backlink with high DA from any location and background?

Does google even care if my backlinks are from websites that have nothing to do with my audience?

Get backlinks from websites in your niche or niche related to yours.

Relevant backlinks are ideal but you can get non-relevant ones too and get nice rank boost.

Ideally, You should build quality links from your niche related site, that will pass authority to the site, your content and site will be more relevant and valuable in google's eye, but some times just to drive some traffic to your site, links from other domains are also good, try to find do-follow links, they worth it. but don't overdo it as far as they are not hurting your site you can have them, but your main focus should be the niche-related sites.

Both general and niche links are good if the links are not spammy with good quality.
