What was the best life advice you received and did it had impact on your life??

I guess I will start first, if you dont wanna know it just skip it ;) and post yours.

I have received my advice... When as 18 year clueless noob I was asking around on other forum how to
create something about multithreading and httpwebrequests related to facebook account creator ( do note I had 0 coding knowledge, and only heard it can be done that way )

One guy said to me:
First you have to learn to walk before you can run! <<<< This changed my life!

After that I decided to learn to write code and every time I face a real life problem or virtual one i try to break it into parts
so I can learn, understand it and ultimately solve it.

From the McDonald's movie :

"Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common that unsuccessful individuals with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent."

Changed my life. Been eating from McDonald's ever since.

Best advice ever is/was

"Don't ever trust a fart"

One old wise man said to me:
All you need in this life are Hookers & Cocaine.
I have been living according to his advice for 10 years and enjoy life to the fullest.

Well, nobody told me this but later saw it after getting the experience.

"You can't be too generous".

1-Dont take shit from anyone
2-Dont depends on people
3-Prove them wrong

One that sticks out to me from a client:

"Fast money equals fast friends."

I really like this one, actually happened to me in my life once but with smaller fortune and luck...

This sounds very inspiring for an average Joe like myself.

Don't live a life you cannot afford.

I think all of us can relate to this one at least in one point of our lives we all tried to live like that

Don't pee towards the wind. Pee with the wind.

It was after I had drenched myself in piss, that those wise words were given me.

Follow your gut, don't take advice.
