BHW redesign no bs brainstorm

I assume the functional components of the site are partials, possibly written in php and the design of each component design follows suit.

So why not the gradual upgrade of the design? I've been here long enough to see a shitlist and the chaos the unravels trying to be an intermediary between two parties in a turing based post design. (facepalm - oh yeah the lack of emojis)

I guess the point of this post, is about staying competitive, because any fresh SPA with a 2015 template could probably swoop enough newbies for a small community.

I saw a post about someone trying to use BHW on their phones looool, imagine not being able to view a website in a modern browser these days.

MY SUGGESTION: RE-DESIGN

Can we get a brainstorm going?

Il start, instead of a thread list, have an option for tiles/cards, visually its easier, can display information better, also the option for traversing from parent topic to child posts. This opens the design up for making space for new components/features such as shit list arbitration

well i think we can't go radical change because of the xenforo forum software but
if it would work to just import and export all the data in a new type of forum with another design will be good so we can do all design we want

A new design is not a bad idea but as said by @Zwielicht, it is not as easy as it may seem on the surface though @BassTrackerBoats did say, in reference to a redesign, that "cool and sharp changes" are on the way, so let us wait and see what those may be.

BHW 2.0 rolled out not long ago but was focused on extending features and functionality rather than design, but now that it is here, a re-design just might be what we see rolling out next.

Making it as responsive as possible will do. I think that is being worked out.

@BassTrackerBoats' statement in that post is actually in response to the logo being refreshed. It's the same logo, it was just rebuilt from scratch to be crisper and high resolution.

There's currently no redesign in the works since the forum was redesigned back when we moved to Xenforo from vBulletin around 2016, and then again in 2020 when the GUI was refreshed.

We can't be too drastic with the changes we make without upsetting a majority of the members here, but suggestion are always welcome.

For anyone else, know that this kind of blatant trolling is not welcome here. Just because trolling isn't explicitly mentioned in the TOS doesn't mean the forum is a free-for-all playground where you can insult your fellow members.

I'll leave this thread open a little while longer since you want to see what other members suggest, but I don't see another re-design happening anytime soon.

im bored and on my own for an hour, i came up with my own slight unsolicited redesign was going to work on the "tiling" system




Was going to see what i could come up with, but if youre deleting the thread theres no point lol (the blue is the standard for dark themes in tailwindcss)

I'm not deleting the thread, I meant that I would lock it in a little while (we'll say a day or two).

We usually lock forum suggestions and feedback threads after a certain point (i.e., after a moderator provides a satisfactory answer). However, I wanted to leave your thread open to see what other members suggest as far as the design of the forum goes.

I like the design you've come up with, looks really clean.
I think there was mention of the possibiltity of more themes being supported but I haven't seen any update on this.

So yeah im not around to portraying what i want example wise, needs a bit more work, but if i find time tomorrow il get the cards/tiles in, and render them with data from BHW (in JSON) its a working site
