Shifting to Russia next year.

What I absolutely love about Russia is that no industry, no business can run without the blessings of the mafia (various mafias there that bless various industries & businesses). They allow you to run your business without any hindrances as long as you get their blessings and as long as your business is blessed by them, your business runs as smooth as butter. And the various mafias in Russia operate quite professionally with very well laid principles & guidelines. That is an environment that absolutely suits me : May not suit some others & that is fine.

Interesting.

But how do you keep from getting killed?

In the USA if you even give in to any mafia at any time (paying "protection") they eventually want it all.
If you deal with them, you are their slave.

How does it work in Russia?

Sincerely,

The Eye

The 1990's called and they want you to come back.

"Mafia" - LOL.
I lived in Moscow for at least 2+ years and it's a city like any other in Europe. In many aspects even better than Europe (very good infrastructure, police, everything digitalized, no stupid feminists, immigrants etc.)

Mafia was liquidated long ago in the 90's.

Nowadays, FSB special forces visit you or blackmail you (but only if you have a really big business: e.g. you are the owner of a huge restaurant chain and have a very high turnover).

I also know many businessmen in IT sector, startups, financial funds etc. who have absolutely no problems with doing business in Russia (at least in Moscow). They regularly pay taxes, transfer the money abroad or convert to crypto (to minimize the risks).

Fuck it doesn't matter if it's cold in the winter — when you can order a Maybach Mercedes-S Class using UBER (Yandex Taxi) for $50 :D

Don't move there. They censor internet (TOR is banned), porn sites are banned, there is no speech freedom. Avoid! Better move to Poland. The same beautiful chicks, no censorship, freedom of speech, there is warmer and we are in EU
Ofc they sensor internet. Hate Speech in some cases needs to be sensored. Porn sites banned yes but there are tons of workarounds. Good old reddit, I don't need tor and many common people don't. Unless you're into some shady shit you'll be okay in Russia as far as I understand. Few years later maybe I will move to Finland because it's next to Saint-P.

I don't know how true it is now but I have never heard it mentioned once in my knowledge of 2 yrs since I have been with my gf. She was in corporate, now is self employed.

I don't think mafia is active anymore in big cities. They've probably gone deep, not troubling commoners, maybe they operate different illegal stuff but not what he described.

Hi guys,
I am planning to shift to Russia next year and see where life takes me from here. The city will be Saint Petersburg, I wonder if we have some members from Saint-P in here who can shed some light on possibilities and opportunities.
brilliant city.

I know that, and I have used it earlier in the post. Some of the comments I was replying to was on page 2 and some on page 3. One needed to be replied seperately. However sorry for the inconvenience. :)

i am Russian and i lived in SPB for 2 years, now i am in the southern part of Russia

Saint-Petersburg is no doubt the best city in this country excepting its shitty climate.

The architecture is just incredible.

Did you even read what car he was using?!

Or "Who really gives a shit, important is to increase post count! "
Bro I think he meant for the western europe part.

Architecture has been preserved like really. Metro was like atleast 200-300 mtrs underground from surface. Generally we don't use such deep metros, we do have metros too, but i think they're rarely 200-500ft underground at max.

regular people dont even know it even exists, even people who own a business
but yeah it exits
It exists everywhere, in every country there's an organised crime syndicate. Only thing is commoners don't know about it. And in some cases even the authorities don't.

Oh yes, I am here for many other amazing things like these they have. I am very interested in getting these resources available for rest of our friends for sure.
Be careful whatever you do so you don't find yourself in a situation where leaving Russia would be risky for you. Stay away from anything illegal, at least anything that could make you a person of interest in any criminal investigation.
