Ok so to those of you black hatters out there who run white hat sites / companies have you found "Going Green" and participating in projects such as: http://www.mokugift.com/ has helped your business in some way (please explain) or increased your sales online (by how much approx.)?

The reason I'm asking this is because, I'm considering it for my own company to assist in converting users into sales... As we all know consumers want to jump on the "Oh, their a green company" band wagon... Now I know the obvious benefits of all the green initiatives and all that but, what I really want to know is my main question... Has going green made you more money?

DISCLAIMER: I have NO relationship with the site mentioned in any way.

Thanks in advance,

The whole global warming thing is a scam. "CO2 is bad, CO2 is going to end the world"...meh...Personally, if they were talking about stopping dumping nerve gas and mercury in the oceans, I might take note; but it's not. It's all about TAXATION and controlling the very air we breath.

Saving gas and electricity can save you money and that's about it.

Are you FUCKIN serious...Going green isnt just about carbon dioxide,

its about making this planet better for the future generations.

So that our kids can actually know what a rain forest is and that they still exist.

I could ramble on about this forever but i find your comment to be quite ignorant so i'll let you wallow in it

Well, I'm not so much concerned about what going green does and I know about the whole "going green" is a scam and much of the data is made up....

However, what I care about is will being a "Green" Company increase my sales. I frankly don't care a whole lot about the issue on a personal level... I just care if Green makes me more $GREEN$ :D

Follow me now? ;)

going green, if it makes you more money or not, will save you money too in a lot of areas, a big part of it is getting more intelligent power management systems on the systems you use in a day to day basis, that adds up, personally im going green as much as i can on what i do in day to day stuff now just for the long term savings but a lot of my stuff revolves around servers not products so im picking components that use less power and consolidating a bunch of shit i overspec'd on and so on, at the end of the day though, iv probably cut the power usage of what i do in about a third, might not sound like much of a change, but it adds up

as for planting trees to offset the co2 production of the stuff i do, i am intending to do that, we are destroying the planet imo, i might only be 1 small person/setup but we have to start somewhere

Global warming is a huge lowdown scam. However, I am not anti-green, but if I was interested in environmental charities the minute they brought up global warming I would automatically not donate or be associated with them in any way. I'm sorry, but man made global warming just severely pisses me off.

I would be all for a tree planting organization if they don't say they do it to stop global warming.

Sorry, but global warming is a major pet peeve of mine.

The concept of global warming pisses you off? It's like saying, the concept of eating too much junk food and getting fat pisses you off. If you have an open mind I suggest you shift your paradigm of the world a little better..

It shouldn't take scientists or this amazing video to prove or disprove global warming. It's just fucking common sense.

Australia is at it's hottest peak it's seen in history and in the meanwhile the UK and US across the globe is being submerged in snow suffering from huge cold chills. The weather here has been completely erratic and it doesn't take a fucking scientist to that to me.

MAN MADE global warming pisses me off. Anybody who is aware of the world knows it's a scam.

Ever occur to anybody that the sun actually does change temperature? (not saying that's what causes it, just saying it's one of many possibilities)

And I'm pretty sure I've seen and read a lot more on this than you have...not to say I'm right about everything about the world, but I'm extremely opinionated about this.

I'm not against planting trees (I've personally have helped plant a lot of them in the past) or driving cars with good MPG. I am against doing it because of global warming.

Oh yeah, if you want to hand pick areas with record highs, where I live we've had a record breaking cold a few weeks ago. It barely got above the teens for around a week and ice on the road for 4+ days, which is very rare around here. Broke some 100 year records several days in a row, give or take a few years.

I do believe Earth is warming, but not because of something I exhale.

Oh guy, i studied the LOHAS target group as well and only thing i can say, it's very hard to get them into the boat.
LOHAS is an megatrend, Patricia Aburdene said it will coming about ten years ago.
In her last Megatrends - Book she told us that the next big thing will be spirtuality (oh no!!!!) - so concentrate now on this term and in one or two years you'll make big cash when the hype starts out.

Oh and yes - you can believe Mr. Aburdene - she saw so many big hypes years before they got real. And she got right - every time.

Correct! Global Warming is devout scam! Thank you for clarifying. Just
because you 'understand' that Global Warming is a scam, doesn't mean
you are 'pro-pollution' or 'paid for by Big Oil' and such.

This forum is about making money in un-orthodox ways.

I would advise against sinking any relevant amount of money into
the Global Warming scam. HOWEVER... it could be a short-term
money maker.. maybe....

it's a risk: take it or don't take it, in the end risks are all the same...

I think I won't sink to the level of promoting Global Warming...

Right. Belief is irrelevant. Global Warming scam is un-raveling at an
exponential rate. There is no scientific evidence to support it... Period!

It's a total scam.

going green= agenda 21= locking you in a city so the plants can grow and the birds can play

you naughty naughty human, you must be contained and confined, gosh... who KNOWS what kinds of dangerous things you could think up with freedom!

I think I won't sink to the level of promoting Global Warming...

Now THAT, 'YoungGuns' is the right answer; it's lower than scum to
promo this scam. However, 'Green Energy' is a broad scope: I'm all
for electric power, all for suppressed tech, more that 100 years old
(or older o___O)

If money can be made, quickly based on trends, DO IT! Outright scams?
Well.... [long pause] ... that's up to your standards... not mine....

Here's something I always thought was hilarious but sickening at the same time:

HOUSE # 1:
A 20-room mansion (not including 8 bathrooms) heated by natural gas.
Add on a pool (and a pool house) and a separate guest house all heated
by gas. In ONE MONTH ALONE this mansion consumes more energy than the
average American household in an ENTIRE YEAR. The average bill for
electricity and natural gas runs over $2,400.00 per month. In natural
gas alone (which last time we checked was a fossil fuel), this property
consumes more than 20 times the national average for an American home.
This house is not in a northern or Midwestern "snow belt," either. It's
in the South.

HOUSE # 2:
Designed by an architecture professor at a leading national university,
this house incorporates every "green" feature current home construction
can provide. The house contains only 4,000 square feet (4 bedrooms) and
is nestled on arid high prairie in the American southwest. A central
closet in the house holds geothermal heat pumps drawing ground water
through pipes sunk 300 feet into the ground. The water (usually 67
degrees F.) heats the house in winter and cools it in summer. The
system uses no fossil fuels such as oil or natural gas, and it consumes
25% of the electricity required for a conventional heating/cooling
system. Rainwater from the roof is collected and funneled into a 25,000
gallon underground cistern. Wastewater from showers, sinks and toilets
goes into underground purifying tanks and then into the cistern. The
collected water then irrigates the land surrounding the house. Flowers
and shrubs native to the are! a blend the property into the surrounding
rural landscape.

HOUSE # 1 (20 room energy guzzling mansion) is outside of
Nashville,Tennessee. It is the abode of that renowned environmentalist
(and filmmaker) Al Gore.

HOUSE # 2 (model eco-friendly house) is on a ranch near Crawford,
Texas. Also known as "the Texas White House," it is the private
residence of the President of the United States, George W. Bush.

*This is actually supposed to be a pretty accurate description
*I deeply despise both gore and bush, for the record

Bingo. Who say's going green is all about "Global Warming". Whether or not you think its true, going green more signafies a change in perception about the way we pollute the planet.

Ontop of that, Whether or not you believe Global Warming is man made or not, global warming IS happening. So instead of argueing the point of whats causing it, you could be re-active in a sense, and help those who are effected by it.

As for going green myself, i dont place it on my websites. But i have wound down my power usage to half of what it was before. By switching to Laptops instead of huge beast of computers + just a single small screen (Not dual) etc

to anyone who says its all a scam blahblah, ok, even if it is, reducing our pollution... this has an overall net gain on our health and lowers the requirements on our health systems which are either fucked up (usa) or overloaded (many countries), how is that a bad thing?

This is a bit far off from the OP but global warming is a hoax and very dangerous.
The CDM and JI devised by the UNFCCC has only one outcomes. It allows companies to pollute more by buying carbon credits instead of investing in an env friendly technology (yes, you can have a green coal power plant but that would involve capturing the fly ash and the exhaust from the boiler, and yess, its very expensive)

So how much energy do yo think your saving by cutting down your electricity consumption while a single factory near you are burning some 2 MwH of electricity which is equivalent to approx 2000 homes.

And get with the program people, they dont call it global warming anymore since its not actually warming in some part of the world, it is now called climate change.

Hot damn I love me the threads that get political on BHW. Too bad the politics/news niche monetizes so poorly in general.

And just to reiterate a bit on what trophaeum has said, think about this: LCD monitors look nicer than CRT's, use less power, and give off lower radiation levels. Saves you money while not frying your nads or our planet.

And props about how fucked up healthcare systems are - look at what oldenstylehats went through with insurance and lawyers. Leeches and parasites are running big companies and we are their victims.

Ralph Nader FTW!

peace,
gregs.
