What would you do if you had a boss who treats you like trash? A boss that controls your day and time.

I would start reading books like "How to act like real trash" so that I can meet and exceed my boss's expectations.

Seriously: Find another job first. Then quit nicely. Get a referral if you can, from someone at the workplace.

I like your sense of humor. Yes, I will do that. Finding remote work is hard these days.

Start job hunting right away but still stay in that job (especially if you need the income to pay the bills) until you have landed a new position

I had a job like this a few times. That's how I never held down a job longer than a few weeks.

IME, if it makes you feel less miserable, it's ok to start acting like a real d1ck. Like you really want to get fired. It's surprisingly difficult to get fired like this - at least IME.

Why not approach for job with one of their main competitors. I wouldn't even last a week with a boss that treats you like trash.
I appreciate your honesty. Should I give my boss a week or month's notice to find a replacement? Any thoughts?

Thanks, Mod. I'm in the technology industry. As of today, it is harder to find jobs that do remotely.

I've been with him for five years. I have done as he says for five years. I did not know that I signed up to be his slave.

The "hold on for as long as you can and find a better job/means of earning a living" is the best advice.

My advice is learn covert hypnosis, then hypnotize your boss into being nice and giving you a raise.

Does not matter whether he is your boss or not, you cannot treat your employees like trash.
Thank you. I am doing a job hunt at the moment. I would have to wait until the end of February. The reason is that I would like to finish the projects I started.

Yes, thank you. Hypnotizing someone is something I would not do.

Hey, thanks. I was thinking about that. How long should I wait?

Its up to your commitments, if you don't have any commitments in every month, you just quit and find another job otherwise you need have patience until you get another job

My take on this is to be patient enough to get another job and leave.
