Should I quit SEO and get a job?

I have a amazing idea for a website and also I have a list of high volume low competition keywords.

I've been trying to do blackhat SEO for over 6 months now with no success. I have 0 visitors.

Should I just quit and work at a job that pays $24/hour?

With that rate I’m assuming you live in the west. Seo is a tough game and takes a lot of time and patience.

I wouldn’t quit seo entirely, but get that job if it is compatible with the pay you’d expect for your educational background and experience and just let the site naturally age while you do small seo updates on it.

I was thinking that i keep trying until the end of the month and if i get no results then i go work a job and my side hustle will be websites.

seo should be a side hustle, until you get to the point where recurring money comes in... then you can quite your full time job, and scale up your side hustle

nothing wrong with working fulltime and working on your projects in your free time. i would even say its the most stable way to go. plus, if you arent getting results, you arent getting results. rent wont pay itself and burning your savings is a terrible idea.

edit: also, don't concentrate solely on SEO. if your idea is genuinely good, try social media promotion too. is faster and much more direct, and can give you a feeling of what people think of your site. be open to the possibility that your idea is so-so too.

Ideally, you should have an income source and have a side project. If the side project you're working on is really successful, you can then consider quitting your job and focusing on your side project (or projects) entirely.

Unless you have someone who got you covered, pay your bills, food, etc, then getting a job is recommended. Just my opinion of course.

Too much pressure on SEO when you don't have an income, get a job and let it be a hobby, eventually becoming very rewarding long term so you can quit and do it full-time

Don't be too quick to quit your side project. Especially if you rely on SEO alone. If you need money, get a job, even halt time would be very helpful. Or even a full time. Most people have a side project or multiple projects on the side while having a full-time job. It requires some juggling, time management and commitment, but if you believe your project is worth it, keep working on it.

my suggestion take the job, and still work on your seo at night. also if it show no result for 6 month maybe you need to recheck it what you did worng. since it's proven not working

If after 6 months you have 0 visitors, your keywords are either low volume or high competition. If they were high volume and low competition, you would have had a lot of visitors.

Unless you have a lot of money to invest, it’s highly unlikely that you can make a full time income with SEO in 6 months.

Don’t think of quitting so early in the game. It’ll take a few more months of effort to make decent money.

From my disaster experience to quit my job to do full time IM without any knowledge a few years ago, I would advise nobody to quit job and go full time.

When you obsess about it and you don't have results you have

1.lack of efficiency due to stress
2.lose value in the job market which makes having a job much more difficult when you try to find one later.

Now I work part time and it serves me well financially and emotionally.

Between digital nomad and digital hobo, the line is not very far sometimes...

Some people like me are easily obsessed to "make things work" and you can easily be in a difficult situation.

I would never relive this period anymore....

This is the smartest thing to do. Do seo as a side thing until you have enough experience.

I faced off the same thing in 2018 when my article writing business tanked. I still do side projects for my own tests, but decided on getting a job. It's nice to have steady income, health insurance, and the likes. There's a bit of security in having a job versus strictly SEO/article marketing which is what I was involved with for 9 years. Good luck to you. I say get the job.

Also, high volume, without commercial intent, is asking for a team of motivated full time writers who also have a following in that niche for distribution purposes. It's based on my assumption.

Get that job, and work on your content distribution strategy, or on the commercial value of your site.
