Over 1 Million WordPress Websites Breached

I had the same once. Looked up a domain, it was available, 10 min later it was taken and in the auction.

Also fell for the $1 domain, horrible site and service.
i wonder if you clear cookies or look up that domain on another device
if it will be available or not
anyway i agree.godaddy is shady and just looking to extract as much money from customers as they can. one of my customers was paying them $300/yr for email lol. something that is free on most hosting plans.

Not sure what Billy did but I did check it on another machine I had. It made me sick since it was a brandable name.

After that, I took it upon myself to never
do business with GoPappa unless it's auctioning.

"We have received confirmation from GoDaddy that the breach has widened to GoDaddy Managed WordPress resellers that include tsoHost, Media Temple, 123Reg, Domain Factory, Heart Internet, and Host Europe." that was sent earlier today from wordfence.
What a shit show

This all thing made my finally finish off the romance with godaddy. at the prime I had dozens of domains registered through them because of their cheap prices and lame competition. I just transferred the last 2 domains I still had there to Namecheap. Good riddance.

I swear years back I searched for a domain name on GoDaddy and 5 minutes later I go back and it is suddenly "taken" but can be purchased for a premium.
Namecheap did the same in their earlier years.

not a fan of name cheap. they are into politics and have shut down domains for my friends [unrelated to politics]
namesilo is the way to go. cheapest prices too.

Yes, I agree, I always use iwantmyname. com to check domains, and then use Namesilo to register them.

I know this will make no difference but it's amusing...

being chat support for these large corporations must be hell. imagine all the stupid questions and abuse they must go through. then being forced to copy/paste the same politically correct templates.

Correct, that is why you should be kind to the staff.
Even in a restaurant it's not the server's fault your lamb is raw.

I feel bad for most of them. But there's a few that really do deserve it *cough* walmart *cough*

I've been working with computers and the internet for 30 years so yeah, I know how cookies work :D

More than just storing passwords in plaintext, Wordpress also accepts plain MD5 hashing, which at this point (at current computing capacity), is easily collidable.
