Slow website usually means there's more to it, and all of these are categorized ubfer Core Web Vitals. If your core web vitals are poor your rankings could be impacted negatively.

More than any SEO impact, you need to worry about conversion impact.
Here is a quote from an amazing guy Hugh Hancock, who ran this test years ago and who is sadly no longer with us:

Landing Page: Average, which loaded in 0.64 seconds, received an average CTR of 5.5%

As a user...What would YOU do if you click on a SERP result and the page takes 5 or 6 seconds to load?

If there's a constant in every single Google core update in the past 10 years is that they have invested millions of dollars in making us focus on offering the best possible user experience for their users and, therefore, page speed is a vital part of that process.

Hence, the Core Web Vitals update.
