Definitely NOT

These days you don't even know if you will wake up with the same rankings as last night.

Earlier it was easy. There were certain rules that you could follow and gain good rankings.

Now it's mostly about UX and user intent and other human stuff that basically makes ranking content for non-native English speakers a tricky task.

How can you say SEO is easier?

There are still things that you can do that are easy, of course there are. Back in the day though, you'd just need to get some spun content up, with the right keywords and spam some links - walla, top rankings.

For actual high search volume terms with difficulty, it takes months, even years and thousands of pounds of investment to get anywhere.
That’s why you’re competing with less people. Now you don’t have to compete with people who just spin some shit and and spam links.

Is it easy to rank for the term “mortgage”? of course not.

But you can easily rank for low competition mortgage keywords without links based onpage.

Eventually, it depends on your goals.

If you need to rank for a difficult keyword for a business, it’s probably going to be tough. But if you just want to make some money, it’s not that hard. Especially with a budget of thousands of pounds.

It’s not that hard to make a few thousand a month with a big initial investment.

If you look at the sites that are up for sale, you’ll see several sites that have been started in the last couple of years and make over a thousand a month.

Also, the search results are becoming more homogeneous, every search result has authority news sites.

OMG, finally someone point this out. This is something that annoys me the most when I'm using Google as a consumer.

Google seems to show the same group of websites in the top 10 results for a huge variation of keywords in certain niche and sometimes the top 20 results dont even give me the info that I'm looking for. Heck, even the title of the articles in top 20 results (sometimes top 50) dont match my search terms and search intent.

Most of the time when that happens, I'm forced to use the search operator just to find articles that are actually relevant to my search terms.

So much for Google prioritizing user experience. What a load of BS.

And their A.I, is laughable in this case.

Do you think SEO got easier over the last 10 years?
The days of spun article submissions and directories are gone but there are plenty of opportunities to build links for free.
The great thing is that there's less competition now and I, personally, find it easier to rank now than like 5 years ago (yes, you need an aged site). Lots of good content (manually written and researched) + decent links will do the job. So many abandoned sites now so it's easy to outrank them.
What's your take?

PS: people who say SEO is expensive are full of shit... they just want to sell you links. Plenty of websites/blogs where you can post for free (OK, you need to provide content).
can someone send me the list of free blog posting sites

SEO has evolved through a series of changes over the years.

Older strategies, which focused on keyword stuffing and mass backlink creation, have become obsolete, and modern strategies, which prioritize user experience, content quality, and relevancy, high quality & hard to acquire links have taken their place instead.

It's normally harder over more expensive to do than in the past plus normally more competition and with Google updates coming up more often that makes things more complex to do normally.

In the past like 10 years ago I could easily rank up a full site using just web 2.0's with Just GSA links to my web 2.0 most of them would rank quite easy that sort of system used to work well but that now does very little compared to the past.

I think it’s easier now. Since you can’t just spin an article and fire up GSA to rank, there’s less competition.

Plus if you have money to spend, getting organic traffic is a joke. There’s a guy on YT who’s doing a journey. He spent 45K on content in 3 months or so and he’s already making 3K a month. Just hundreds of articles. No links.

Not everyone has 45K to spend of course. But being able to outspend the competition definitely makes it much easier than earlier.
Whats the Name of this Guy?

SEO became harder but purchasing links became easier. Nowadays, we also have experts like Lady Gaga riders and Lana Rhoades riders to rank your sites.
yeah man, the music industry is harder everyday, but seo is easier so they sell seo links!

maybe, the goal of google is to obligate people to search past page 1...
maybe to insert more ads in more search pages

"The great thing is that there's less competition now"

Nope. There is more competition than there ever has been. Even ranking for easy keywords is proving to be a fools errand. It's just a race to the bottom now as there is always someone willing to outspend you just to get on the bottom of page 1.

It's getting harder to rank due to higher competition, but there is always new keyword combination which bring demands with low competition, your job here is to find that new combination keyword so you have higher chance to rank. In the past, you can easily rank your keyword even without backlink, now you need more effort to rank your keyword especially if you target medium and high competition keyword.

It much easy when compared to competitor but for us, too expensive. And also too many content but not appropriate one. huge number of techniques but it helps us little bit alone.

I think google is not so smart bot and spam still wins. In my niche at least. But even in other niches should work the same if you are a pro spammer

For business owners in various industries, SEO has shown to be a cost-effective and extremely helpful technique.
SEO is a time-consuming approach that requires a lot of attention.
The most significant pages (such as "Home," "Products," and "Contact Us") should be highlighted with bold headers and many paragraphs of compelling copy.
Include words and phrases that accurately characterise your company, but don't stuff your text with them.
Concentrate on writing in a natural manner. Optimizing your title tags and meta tags, which you can normally perform using your site's content management system, is also quite helpful, especially at the beginning of your campaign.
