Does Channel Age Matter?

I have channels from 2014 and 2016 and I am thinking of starting to produce content on youtube, do you think it will have an effect if I use the channel created in 2014?

For uploading content? I don’t think it should matter. The channel I’m using now was opened this year and it’s had it’s fair share of success.

I don't think old or new matters, I've had several channels that have been new and have done great. The content and niche you're in matters not the age of the channel, that's a huge myth.

it only matter from the very first video you have uploaded. so if You have aged channel with no videos - it's useless. Age starts from the very first video. Youtube collecting info on your viewers and are going to show your videos to the very similar people that already watched your video.

Exactly, I'm not sure where people got this from as you can have an old channel and do no numbers on that channel. What matters is good content like you said.

When I was in the copyright niche, I routinely made new channels over and over again from scratch, and because of the niches, I had the videos populated in no time because the quality of the content was great and the niche was heavily searched for so it comes down to that more than anything.

channel age and authority matters when it comes to spam content.

especially for CPA spam.

all CPA spammers buy aged + big channels coz it works best

if channels are fresh, you wont even appear on search.
this is known as "sandbox" and it is done to protect the platform from spam.
your channel will be in the sandbox for 1 to 2 weeks before it starts appearing in search and recommendations.

rather buy an aged channel with a lot of videos and views and start uploading, since it is already out of sandbox
