I think AVAX will do a 30x - change my mind

Avalanche is 100x faster, 1000x cheaper to use than Ethereum

Fees are fixed at 0.001 forever. You can send and receive AVAX paying 1/1000 of a coin.

It does smart contracts, which Cardano doesn't.

When you send an AVAX coin it arrives in 2 to 3 seconds max. Fastest crypto out there.

So, what's keeping this coin from reaching Ethereum market value? If it does reach Ethereum valuation, it means a 30x multiple of current price.

I can't see the hole in this idea. Seems kinda obvious to me? Change my mind?
I don't know or care about short term price but the biggest hole in your idea is that long term the users are what matter and not those specs/features. Fast and cheap coins are a dime a dozen. Soon someone will come along, copy avax code, tweak it and boom the next eth killer that is even better, lol. That isn't really what matters most though.

My question is, how is the avax network in terms of businesses accepting it and people using it for normal transactions (not just trading on exchanges)? And how is that ecosystem growing? Many projects do okay with specs/functionality and price but can't seem to get any significant userbase. Why will avax be different exactly? It's so competitive now so getting an edge on real world adoption is rough.

The top coins (Bitcoin and eth mainly) have so much individuals and institutions money at stake which causes more development of the blockchain, applications and integrations. More users so more people willing to accept it. More people accepting it makes more people willing to use it, and so on. Everything causes a positive network effect which grows the ecosystem even faster. Bitcoin ecosystem is growing exceptionally well, Eth is also. Avax, not so much as far as I can tell. How long until the ecosystem matches Ethereums at the current or projected rate of growth?

I don't really have an opinion on it, it's too early for me tbh. At this stage it seems like an insanely risky long term bet.

Btw, are you sure it's even the fastest? I can't remember off top of my head but aren't Nano transactions completely free and under 1 second, with higher transactions per second then Avax? Regardless, I think there are lots of projects in the sub 10 second speed range now. Even Bitcoin lightning network is instant and cheap. As we have seen, those aren't the most important factors for adoption.

Update : it's done a 3x already since this thread got posted.

10x to go

Gonna look for avax. Thank you

Wow.

If I knew it'd be this crazy I'd have bought some moar.

AVAX is in berzerk mode.

Hopped on this, looks good, bought some bitcoin in 2013 too :)

Can we get an AVAX appreciation moment pls?

This baby dunn a 300% or moar since this was posted.

That's 3 to 4x your money in a couple of weeks.

I can now afford 4x more beer than before. Think about that.

Does it have potential to rise 30X similar to AVAX?

Donno. Most I'm able to follow is the main coin. These sub projects are interesting but I can't really comment on.

Did any of you catch this train?

Almost at $60 now, a 5x since posted and going.

Just realised I bought a few of these when I saw this thread posted on 8th August that turned out to be a good shout thanks :)

Copy paste:

Solana recommends validators run hardware with 24 Cores, 128 GB Memory, 4 TB NVMe disks, Nvidia 2080 ti graphics cards (4000 cores) and very high bandwidth connections. This limits those capable of running a node though due to the expense, similar to Bitcoin ASIC mining rigs. Avax can run on a toaster

With Avalanche there can effectively be many Solana type blockchains build on top of it, each benefiting from the full high tps that solana claims, whilst being specifically designed for their DAPP. Rather than 1 Solana which everyone uses, you effectively can have 1000's. Rather than forcing high validator requirements for everyone though, the primary network on Avalanche requires just 2 cores, 4 GB Memory and 32 GB Hard Drive space and yet can scale to 4500 tps per subnet. If you need more performance, then subnets can provide that.

Other platforms also accumulate their tps over the number of shards, I.e. each shard can do 1000 tps and can scale to 100 shards, therefore 100,000 tps.. Avalanche can do 4500 tps on just 2 cores, 4 GB memory, whilst also able to scale to unlimited number of subnets. Speed isn’t everything though, what’s equally important is latency. It’s pointless to say you can process more transactions that VISA and take 60 seconds for the transaction to be final. Can you imagine buying an item at a store and waiting 60 seconds for the payment to clear. Do you like waiting? Time it takes for a transaction to be considered final: Optimistic rollups: 1 week
Bitcoin: 60 mins
Ethereum 2.0: 6 mins
Cardano: 5 mins
Polkadot: 60 secs (60 mins to external chains)
Elrond: 51 secs
Solana: 13 secs
Avalanche: less than 1 second
