Some of my client's sites took a hit after the recent Google Update. Curious what backlinking strategies are working well post update?

Guest posts, link insertions and sensible use of PBNs.

Just stick with the quality ones if you want good and long-lasting results,
This includes any type of links like PBNs, guest posts, web 2.0s, etc...
Pay attention to the anchors used & the website on-page as well, links on their own are a part of the big picture
