hello, can somebody help me in telling how and what should I do to get links for a new site. What types of links should I target to build authority?
or the process in detail

thanks

The "HOW"
In an ideal world, you'd produce very valuable content that would easily gain quality links on its own. If you can, you can always create something and give it away for free (for example, if you have an SEO blog, you want to create an audit tool or rank checker or something that could easily become a target for backlinks, especially if it's a decent tool). Depending on your niche of course. You might have to get creative if it's not applicable in your situation and niche.

The "WHAT"
In this reality, that's rarely the case and you'd have to go for what most people do - email outreach, niche edits, guest posts, etc. Go for diversity (do / no follow) and quality. For a brand new site, I'd go slowly, don't blast 1K backlinks - it's not 2010 anymore. If you do that, you might as well say goodbye to those $8 bucks you paid for that domain.

You should start with a couple of decent guest post/niche edits links to gain some niche authority if you really want to approach safely,
For me, I wouldn't really bother, I just start with PBNs right away, they're my 1st way to go for any link building,
You should aim for homepage links with branded & naked anchors for the start

How do you find a good pbn? Most of the pbns i bought my sites get negative results leading to penalty..

As a Mod, I cannot recommend any service but take a look at the SEO - Link-Building & SEO - Packages Marketplace subforum. Read some of the latest reviews for the services and this should give you a good idea.

You should either build one yourself with decent domains, hosting, setup, etc...
Or check reputable services in the marketplace,
The ones with monthly rental fees do usually have a much better network(s), check them out

Quality web 2.0s can do a quite good job for the less competitive keywords, but not something to fully rely on,
Use them as buffer sites to pass some link juice overall, nothing more

Already you got some excellent suggestions. Many ways you can start building links. One strategy could be to find out contents in your niche that earned a good number of links. And then you also publish the same kind of content either improving them or at least close to them. Then use outreach strategies to build links. This strategy is well known as the Skyscraper link building technique.

I understand

For new sites, I usually post some interesting tutorials, how to articles. and then post it on sub-reddits.

Everyone's talking about links here but if you really want to gain trust/authority write more content! Cover your niche in as much depth as possible. This is how smaller/weaker sites beat out the big boys, because they are highly authoritative in their niche because they cover it in depth.

What types of links should I target to build authority?
If you want to increase the "trust and authority" of your site instead of focusing on building links focus on building topical relevance.

Focus on building a brand and make yourself noticeable as an authority in your niche or industry.

This will come by publishing insightful, in-depth, and comprehensive content that is also oriented to fulfill user´s search intent and, at the same time, others will want to link to.

Agree! If you are just starting, focus on your content (while you do link building or other strategies). Create long, keyword-rich and engaging articles and post consistently.

roger, roger, roger, roger, roger...... come on buddy.... what is the chance of someone out of no where linking to another site that is not a brand name?

can you mention your niche at high level? i.e. technology, health, travel, etc.

as a new site, be careful on not creating competing pages. do not create 2 pages about "best red apple". you can create pages about how to grow red apple, how to make red apple pie....

creating competing pages, will confuse google and you will have a hard time ranking at the top. remember: quality over quantity when it comes to links.

fb3003,fb3003, fb3003, fb3003, fb3003....seriously bro...how can you expect to gain authority within your niche/industry if you don´t start building a brand first?

If what you´re looking to build is a "rank and burn" type of website and NOT a long-term business, I would focus on building topical relevance first and building a brand.

Links?

Links will come after in a natural and organic way.

Everything relies on the quality of the content you put out there.
