With the new function "Idea Pin" it seems to be possible, to get ********-Backlinks from Pinterest - just look here:

https://www.pinterest.de/ideas/travel-guide/925431590343/ or https://www.pinterest.ca/ideas/travel-guide/925431590343/

But I don't get how that works... any hints?

Nope. I have ahrefs too. Pinterest doesn't generate do-follow links.

I've checked it many times on the page source code itself and it doesn't lie. Ahrefs can be wrong too anyway.

That's not entirely true. Pinterest is fucking awesome for parasites whether you're targeting low or hard keywords. You'll see this mofo everywhere on top 10 google and that if it's being optimized and had some support links. Just give it another try.

You still got the authority boost from pinterest as it's a high authority site anyway. If you're expecting them to bring you any major serp movements, that'll be another story since they're no-follow links, meaning no link juices flow.

Ohh yeah I just noticed that when logged out. But still you can't get that do-follow links by yourself as /ideas/ are curated by Pinterest editors / Pinterest system itself, not by users afaik. But let us know if you really found a way to get one.

Pinterest backlinks have never done much with my sites, just good for diversification I guess.
