How long does a PPC campaign keep profitable?

How long would you all say that a PPC campaign stays profitable?

How long after testing and running it, will it continue to make $$?

It's pretty obvious that it varies depending on the product..

I've had one go for 24hrs then the company pulls out and my time testing etc. was all a waste.. others have gone for months!

depends on many variables like season, capped leads, offer gets pulled, etc

If it's on google for example expect it to die sooner or later.. As soon as you get a manual review they will kill it for sure. Google hates affiliates and that's why you really need to cloak your stuff and use all your black hat skills to prevent them to end your party

For those who rely completely or mostly on PPC, What are you doing due to the new PPC crap thats been going on with adwords?

Adwords is being a pain in the ass, so what are you doing besides msn adcenter and yahoo search?

Well... that's why i'm here. I'm doing some CL and starting on all those free type of traffic things like articles, links, social media, off line marketing and everything else ...

i've found that it depends on how much and how often the product owner actually promotes their product (for affiliates anyway).

adwords campaigns just catch the clicks - but there has to be someone sending the clicks to begin with.

i find that my sales usually happen in bursts - like making a whole bunch of sales in 1 day, then nothing for a week, then making a whole bunch of sales again in 1 day - probably due to the product getting re-launched or a guru mailing his entire list about it - all outside factors that you can't really control or predict.

Really depends on the niche. I have had PPC campaigns with positive ROI running for more than a year...

I think PPC will give you very poor response for your business if you are an advertiser. Also PPC will give your very poor earnings if you are a clicker...
