How many times should I link from a PBN?

2-3 should still be OK.

Number of PBN units (network size) is important and also how much of overall link profile they are making.

If you have let's say 50+ units network and they all link to same 3 money sites it's once again asking for it.

That's one of the reasons I limit number of links target domain can have on our public network.
Thank you for your fast response. Yes, so the best way to go is still 1 money site per pbn unit and then only add one or two additional links to other money sites very, very rarely.

People ask me this question all the time. Or similar variants. Among many others.

I feel like PBN Cortana or Siri sometimes.

Let me answer it in public.

So... "How many times should I link from a PBN?"

Depends on what you want to achieve. Let's take a closer look.

Generally, people use PBN links in 5 different ways.

One PBN unit homepage linking to one money site page.

This is the ideal way to do it.

It is also the most expensive one.

Gives the best results and is my recommended way of PBN linking.

PROS:
- great power & link juice
- anchor text diversity
- only need few of these puppies usually for major rank increase

CONS:
- expensive when scaling is required

VERDICT: Recommended!

PBN unit homepage linking to multiple different money site pages.

This is probably the most common scenario.

Linking to multiple money sites from the same PBN unit.

PROS:
- decent power / juice if you keep OBL (outbound link count) below 20 (ideally below 10)
- anchor text diversity

CONS:
- lowering power / link juice because of increasing OBL with each link

VERDICT: Recommended!

The same PBN unit homepage linking to multiple pages of the same money site.

Here is where people usually mess up and don't get results they want.

Linking to multiple pages on the same money site gives so called diminish returns.

Diminishing returns is like running against the wind. You keep pushing forward harder and harder but wind is getting stronger and stronger so the end result is that you end up going backwards.

PROS:
- power / juice to the first linking page
- anchor text diversity of individual pages

CONS:
- diminishing returns
- waste of time waiting for results
- potential flag because of oblivious sign of "connection" between websites

VERDICT: Not recommended!

PBN unit homepage and multiple inner pages linking to one and the same money site page.

This is what is happening by default if you build PBN links by publishing homepage posts.

Your post sits on the homepage but the post page itself also gets indexed so link comes from inner page as well.

This is OK as homepage will get priority.

However... if you push this further and keep building links from inner pages you will once again encounter diminishing returns.

Homepage (or the page engines discovered first) link will count fully and only thing that will count from inner pages is anchor text. So you can use it for diversity.

PROS:
- power / juice to the first linking page
- anchor text diversity

CONS:
- diminishing returns
- potential flag because of oblivious sign of "connection" between websites

VERDICT: Not recommended!

Multiple inner pages of the same PBN unit linking to multiple page of the same money site.

This can be quite effective if you do it in moderation, actually. Especially if the PBN pages are powered by direct backlinks.

I wouldn't do more than 5 pages personally.

PROS:
- power / juice if individual pages are backed by links
- anchor text diversity of individual pages

CONS:
- potential flag because of oblivious sign of "connection" between websites
- potential diminishing returns but I haven't encounters them with all cases, it's tricky

VERDICT: OK with moderation

There are other linking scenarios but they are not as common.

Feel free to share your experience and testing results.

Hope this makes your PBN life clearer and easier ;)

May I ask what type of strategy your T-RANKS service is?
Say, If I order STEGO 5 Links is it #1?
thanks

I missed notification about this somehow.

Yes, you are correct.

I cannot talk about my services here. Sent you a PM.

The only first option is safe. The second option is only good when money sites have different owners. It is a huge footprint when all websites on PBN have the same owner. Google is intelligent. Various data in WHOIS is not enough. You provide contact details on your websites. To sleep better, use only the first option.

Suppose I have 30 PBN websites, and each PBN website has 3 posts, and the links in the 3 posts point to my three niche websites. (That is: 3 links on 30 PBN websites all point to 3 money websites).
Will this be considered a PBN website by Google? is it dangerous?
If so, how do you assign posts of the PBN website?

PS:After the PBN website goes online, how long does it generally take to age before you can start making PBN posts pointing to the money website? 1 month? thanks

Great Guide...

I used to recommend the top 3 methods to my clients. Also I suggest to use unique featured blog posts, even it is a guest post link. I thought that the diversified link juice has less power than one big powerful page link.

Yes, they should all look like separate money sites otherwise you are asking for it.

Is it publicly obvious that all those 3 money sites belong to you? If so, it is a problem.

I generally wait around 2-3 months before starting linking out. Make sure to publish some content without links in this time period.

"unique featured blog posts", can you elaborate on it a little?

Yes, lower OBL means more juice generally speaking.

Yes. All three niche sites belong to me. So what is a good way to circumvent this situation?
In addition, can I restore the articles in the history of expired domain names and republish them? This can save me part of the content expenditure.
thanks

Yes, lot of people do it, and me too since many years and without any problem :D

OK but is it publicly obvious they belong to you?

You can do that but be careful about copyright. Also, they should be gone from the index first.

Good one. This was useful for new ones in PBN including me. :)
Glad I could help. :)

No copyright or ranking issues?

No copyright or ranking issues?
No, never. Mainly I use scraped expired content for T1 links (PBN or web 2.0), but sometime also for inner pages of money sites and a couple of times for part of the homepage. Never had a problem.

2 times a day just like medication.
Now coming to the question there is no hard and fixed rule for this.

How is the money page rankings? Ever reached top spots with that kind of content?

Personally I don't like more than 2-3 times to other subgroups of domains. After that just buy a new cheap expired domain and start the process over again

Sub-groups? Can you elaborate?

From what it sounds like you shouldn't do that at all. One layer/tier of PBN units should be dedicated to certain money sites (ideally just one) and that's it.

What if PBN pages are powered by direct powerful backlinks (more powerful than homepage) and you do this scenario:

PBN page1 --- \
PBN page2 ---> Moneysite
PBN page3 --- /

From my experience, the first discovered link you have priority and juice would flow mostly from that.

Other links would soon start giving diminishing returns aka rank boost would be much smaller (or none) from 2nd+ links.

Anchor text of other links would still contribute towards diversity but it's not the same as unique links.

Full disclosure: I haven't tested this scenario in a while sicne I do only 1 link per domain these days. I assume it is like this or even less effective since everything is getting more and more strict.

Is it really worth blocking non google crawlers just so competitors can't find your links? if so, what's the safest way so SEs can't detect that you're blocking them? I actually find it really useful to have some PBN sites as projects in my ahrefs account so I can track their progress and always have up to date stats on them.
