Is This The Future Of Captchas...

Oh fuck man!!!

Now bhw homies am sorry but i think thats going to be a fuckin bitch to crack.

Just when i was hoping to buy xrumer.

Goddamit why don't they join the dark side and start making money instead of making it hard for us to automate much of our tasks. Seriously they could be making money instead of preventing ppl like us who are just trying to crack captchas.

Lol!!!

I think developing those type of captcha's will be too expensive...pure audio captchas will be main stay... animation 5 years

Cool! But I guess botmaster alex will find a way to break it :)

Audio is so easy to crack...

But I really got to agree this stuff will be a nightmare for anyone to produce.... Unless of course they just mass buy videos and convert that. Now that would be more productive... and kinda scary for the xrumer ppl I guess...

This is an opportunity, not a challenge. This would certainly make decaptcher services more valuable.

That's really genius. But I doubt it will be implemented anywhere soon.

There would be too little variations of this captcha, low number of captchas can be broken by building database with correct answers :).

As with all new technology, there WILL ALWAYS be a way to break it!

Nice video by the way!

[Have no sound, hope I did not 'overhear' an important piece of information]

Yeah, sure, but the effort gets bigger and bigger. But I also do not care too much since it was and is and will be possible to make the captcha-process arbitrarily complicated so that even humans have a problem to solve it or get annoyed. Nothing a webmaster really wants.

And services like decaptcher.com will also be always available.

And... let's have e.g. a look on forums etc: many have still the crackable default captcha. Because of laziness, because of lack of trust in captcha-services, because of being dumb and completely helpless. And apart recaptcha, I don't know at least for now any service of trust, which could be offered as a default in phpbb etc.

wow, now that's an annoying captcha. If i was forced to solve even one of those I'd go on a fuckin killing spree

They will more or likely just be multi choice answers or it will have a simple question like what animal is this?

but this will be hard to crack!

I seriously doubt this will be implemented any time soon.
Think of all the possible answers?

'Horse running'
'Horse galloping'
'Horse'
'Moving Horse'
'Animal'

ETC?

Certain countries will just fill warehouses with people and we will end up paying 5 cents per captcha to have them filled in. No worries.

This will most likely never happen anyway.. Just a prototype

Well, it would likely be a dropdown box. Of "What animal is moving here". Or just what animal is moving here. If you cant pick out a horse, then they prob dont want you signing up anyway. Because your prob blind, dumb or both.

The biggest problems with these types of captcha's is that it is unlikely to be able to be handled on mobile interfaces. Like smartphones etc. While alot of flash enabled nowadays, not all do. And ontop of that, not many people like wasting precious mobile bandwidth loading a mobile "movie". And even if they detected the useragent as a mobile, it would be far to easy to exploit.

Ontop of that, captcha services like decaptcher would increase their prices hugely due to the bandwidth needed. Think about the file size of a movie like this! And trying to send that to decaptcha... they wont be thanking you for that.

ok so i have a noobie question because i dont know anything about captcha's and trying to get round them but would something like facial reconition software work? i know this is highly experimently programs and are really hard to code but just thinking of some idea's.
Doubt it will happen anyway there is alot of issues with it like bandwith what pyronaut said.

Flash wouldnt needed. They only needed to transform it into animated gif.

They wouldnt choose multiple choice answers simply because it doesnt make sense. Because you try four or three times and get one success. That would be similar to the successrate of some captchabreakers nowadays.

Third... The images would be limited. Because they need to precalculate this captchas and they cant provide a huge number of objects the answers will be limited. And that leads to... that it is breakable probably.

I dont think its a real danger...

These animations look fairly breakable.

For example, the horse has a certain degree of separation between it and the rest of the background. You could theoretically compute the difference between one frame and another to see what changed rapidly and what just moved a little bit.

To be honest, these captchas aren't that scary. :P What's more is that like many people before my have mentioned, it's too cost-inefficient to produce thousands of unique versions of these.

For example, you would need a unique repository of animations that could be used in order to make unique captcha animations. This repository would have to be huge and secure.

That might now even work.

If you have a 3D model, you just grab two frames and cross-reference it with two frames of a stored animation. You wouldn't even need to have the originals as a team could extrapolate and develop their own 3D models to compare these to.

Before I get on a brainstorming tangent, let me just say that this probably won't happen. :P
