Alright guys and gals... I have been researching and implementing methods of IM for about 1 1/2 year now. And I must say...

Having no budget really makes marketing a bitch :/

It really is a big wall that tends to hit me eventually no matter what I try. I'm not saying I haven't made any money yet...because that's not true xD

On to the topic...

I go to the University at Buffalo right now.

I have 30000 students... a VERY broad range of ethnicity (i'm Caucasian and I am a minority on our buses and classrooms) enrolled with me. Highly highly international.

I have thousands of bulletins that I pass everyday to class, that these 30000 other kids pass too....and I know I'm not the only broke kid around.


Sad thing is... I'm not too bright when it comes to Offline Marketing.

1. Use flyers
2. cpa?/freelunchroom?

CPA- I don't want to scam my fellow students... why do that if I make them perhaps a recurring profit/monthly flyer posted or something.

I have only about 100 liquid dollars atm :bawling:

Can a few of you throw me any ideas or past successes? I'd like to go on vacation for spring break.

Make a flyer with tabs for your website/CPA offer that the other students can tear off and bring back to their dorm room or the Student Center.

The flyer should be bright in color to stand out and you'll have to check them often so that when all the tabs are torn off, you can replace the flyer with a new one.

Wow, I guess you're right. That's my bad... and your correct; every method I have seen with cpa is get-cash-quick and kind of scammy. I'll check the 7 networks I'm in and look for a good ad. I remember coming across an ad for some supplement that intended to enhance cognitivity, alertness, focus, etc.

Slap a little "legal adderall imitation" flyer around... but that would have to be off campus... for that seems to abuse my right to post flyers up in the first place.

Oh i'll be in such a good mood, waking up bright and early in my cold dorm to get out of my covers, change, and walk 20 minutes to accounting, marketing, economics and advanced writing in polar weather.

To top it off.... my english professor is the only one I understand this semester. No offense to Mrs. Xu, Mr. Ahmed and Dr. Subrymanian xD

Hint: Here's the trick to getting views on campus. Don't put your flyer alongside the thousands of others. Honestly, have you ever seen someone stop and browse the flyers? People are on their way to class, to their dorms... wherever. They have a task in mind, and that task isn't to stop and stare at flyers, regardless of how broke they may be.

The trick is to place the flyers in locations where people have no choice but to look at them. The secret is bathroom stalls. Tape them up in stalls in highly-traffic bathrooms. Be sure to position them so that they're immediately obvious when someone sits down to take a crap. Honestly, do you have something better to do than read the flyer in front of you when you're taking a crap? You can even use some long copy here... Tell a bit of a story about you, poor college student, and how you now rake in the dough. It'll be more likely to stick in their minds. But know your audience and don't make outrageous claims. Make sure to have the tear-off pieces at the bottom, so they can remind themselves later.

Go crazy... Bathrooms near classrooms, in the dorms. Dorms might be a better shot, if people are just gonna be heading back to their rooms after taking a dump, the offer will be fresh on their minds. Of course, this assumes you have access to all the dorms.

Worried about alienating your female viewers? Fret not. Access these late at night, 4 to 5 am. It shouldn't be difficult to avoid company.

If you talking about my personal view... then yes your correct; UB really doesn't seem as big as it is. Very easy to get used to.

There are limits to where you can post flyers. If you are going to start taping them to bathroom doors yu are going to upset officials within the university so make sure your website doesnt link back to you.

I can't find the dietary supplement free trial ad anymore. That was probably almost a year ago when I saw it.

I'll let you know if I come across it.

Complete agreement with the BATHROOM STALL method. Regardless of the item, here is what always caught my eye (and things I used) while at UCSB....which is considerably different than where you are:

1. Bathroom stalls and sticker! It may be considered vandalizm, but I was never called on it. When someone needs to take a shit, they look straight ahead...put a sticker right in their face. It will stay for quite some time.

2. Find all the major lecture halls and stick up flyers on the door with pull tab. Make a few different flyers, different designs and colors and put them near each other. Don't bother with the flyer boards, just break the rules. Enough people will pull the tabs before the school removes them

3. Facebook group! I made 3k in 2 weeks with a facebook group targeting my school, all legit and everyone loved it too. It has to do with a party that I was going to put on and budgeted the entire party out for ticket prices, made cool looking tickets, and sold them in person but advertised on facebook with viral marketing - but the party has to be dope. This one involved limos, a boat, kegs, a club, bottle service and $60 tickets. It was a bitch but talk about my senior year project. I dropped half on my cc and paid it off with ticket sales before I ever got hit with interest. Never invested a cent.

4. The GYM! Not sure how yours is set up but the gym is a money place for so much...money...

All and all, college campuses are the shit and best place to earn money. Just keep yourself low key (unless your going with the party idea). Kids have parents money, student loans, low paying jobs, and whatever else they get and want to spend it. Fact

Actually I have this semester and then two years.

Then two more for my masters, but I'm currently a sophomore.

And my major is marketing... so yea I started early . With all of the ideas and suggestions I have been receiving... ill be sure to let you know everything that I accomplish.
