Thanks for sharing this nice method. I have a new account that I'm growing and I looked up some of the hashtags I use for it. I found 8 hashtags that don't have username associated with them and below are their post numbers.
For 4/5 top hashtags I will create new IG accounts. They are all buyers hashtags and have words "shopping" and / or "gifts" in them. Some of the posts in these hashtags are actual photos of gifts that IG users bought related to particular niche (ie. #giftsforERnurse, #valentinesdayshopping, #giftsformothersday) and I think hijacking the names might do me some good.
In my own re-twisted version repost other people's gifts & get them to follow my new hashtag accounts. After those accounts grow I will start introducing my money account that is a brand that sells the same type of gifts. My new hashtag accounts will essentially be mini gift guides displaying gifts that others purchased in the same niche and to the eyes of IG users it will become an authority account which they are more likely to follow to get future advice on the type of gifts they already known to purchase for others.
PS. I would also do some automation by scrapping information while doing other actions manually by my human bot (my VA).

Update from my end - so I mispoke when I said that 8 hashtags for which I could create accounts. I checked them by checking URL and later found that some had no URL but account with that name already existed. Out of the accounts that I would be able to create I ended up getting 1/2 that I liked. I found content to post on it and was going to get my VA to start re-posting but for some reason this new account doesn't have button to add new posts via web interface. I typically have my VA work on accounts via web, easy copy paste to do comments, etc. So because of this I didn't explore it much further.
This method sounds cool.

How do you find a nice hashtag to target ?
I tried a few of the shelf bots a couple of years ago , but they ended up getting my accounts banned eventually.
So I wrote a bot in pure AHK that replicates human type interaction with the web browser and a home made 3G proxy server.
I was doing like 5 or 6 posts a day and never got the account banned. I even put spelling mistakes in lol
But never really knew how to make money out of it so i deleted ages ago.. but if I could work out how to use it to make money I might have another bash.
BTW I dont sell bots.. worst thing you can do .. sorry, if I make them I use them.
