Scammed for $200 by @traviscottjr

Made a thread to hire a freelancer to do a news guest post

Purchased a guardian news article from @traviscottjr , payed half before completion for $200

OP didn't deliver after the TAT, then told me he didn't because the funds were on hold,

OP told me to dispute, if I wanted a refund. He then filed a fake claim to say that I scammed him. Hopefully if we can get OP banned asap, I can prove to paypal he's a scammer... It looks like he understands how to beat the buyer protection for paypal.


Sent this URL to my escalated paypal case, hopefully it gets accepted and the URL doesn't change.

I mean, he spent my money... told me it was on hold and that I should dispute... and then responded to the dispute with fake skype messages to make it seem like I'm the scammer.

I had no intention of getting my money back as soon as he told me to dispute, he's prob a career scammer

This is the exact guy who I saw bought the pink upgrade without even having any posts.. and he scams someone for just above 99$.. exactly as I was thinking right when I saw his account, I believe he was replying to all sorts of WTB's..

He was and I deleted all of them so they are non existent to the ones he responded to but the staff can still see them of course.

Fortunately, after escalating the claim, the dispute waived in my favour...

I've heard of scammers who've had methods of beating disputes against customers. I thought this guy was a professional... maybe he has a lot of aged paypal accounts?

Good news. Some scammers do this a lot of time. They have multiple paypal accounts that they use to initiate the transaction. Once they receive the funds they move it to their main account then cashout and they tell victims to request a refund. They dont care about the first used account.

I guess lesson here is buy from seasoned/respected members. Check history, number of messages, date joined, etc.
It's not completely scam-proof, but it's the best you can get. The more time I spend here, the more I respect the mods and the rules of the forum.

Of course, it's like you said, this place isn't scam proof. But, for resources I need this place is 10x better than even the best Telegram channel. Guys n gals need to remember to always do business inside pms in BHW on your first encounter with someone new. That just makes the shitpost process that more simple and transparent.

dont you think when the seller wants to move the conversation away from BHW pm, is a cause for concern?
