Hello, I'm pretty new to BHW. I'm a graphic designer that makes cover arts mostly in the rap genre. As you probably know a lot of people are trying to be rappers nowadays so you might figure that finding customers wouldn't be so hard for me. However, as I'm still attending college and want to focus most of my free time on actually creating arts so I'm not left with much time for finding customers. My arts are really good and I menage to find people to work with but I want to step it up, my page is growing but very slowly. I only advertise on IG because the demographic for this genre is the most concentrated there (I'm 19 and the artists / rappers I work with are in their teens / early 20s and we don't really use facebook). A while ago I used comment bots and it actually did work for me for some time but was soon shadow banned so the method isn't really the best anymore. Is there a tool for me to easily find people that are likely to work with me and a tool that will help me grow my business faster? Thank you in advance

Lord Jesus, if you 19 men you good. set a goal to reach by 25

you have so much more to learn, I know you want to get it but as we chat now there is no way you cannot succeed if you keep working in art rap genre like a beast. hard word, improve your craft day after the day, try to copy or do better than your competitor on insta

show your portfolio to the world, insta is great however it would be better to have your own website, you can add your work there as another catalogue of your art. (important if insta decided to play game one day) create detail business card to give, create a empire meaning your brand yes you sell yourself as graphic designer but it you put a brand behind it I think its better. am turning 34 this year and i swear I would have start a business while I was at my parents house or at 20 I regret it so much because I am in process of creating a business a we chat, its almost done but complication happen like always

Good luck,

Hey man, I'm working with some rappers for SMM and Content myself since a few months, and by my experience I can tell you that all that matters when me or a client is deciding for a new song cover or marketing graphic is -> connections. We almost exclusively work with people we know well.

However, if you don't have those connections to 'managers' yet, I simply recommend to build a personal brand for yourself and reach out to them via DM. Maybe offer some freebies to managers aswell to get into a long term agreement / bulk order?

It's really about consistency. No matter what you're selling, working on your social media presence will get your brand to grow to the point where it will snowball. Ideally, you want to become an influencer in your niche. An example for you would be "canvas man".

As far as finding customers goes, the bigger your account gets the more reach you'll have. So just keep at it. Daily.

Your probably already know this, but use the right hashtags! I can't overstate their importance. Spend your time doing hashtag research. Use tools that will help you do this better (PM me if you like and I will tell you about the ones that worked for me).

Also, be mindful of not using the same hashtags for each post. Use different combinations for each post, and be comprehensive to cover all the relevant post aspects in the hashtags. A lot of users have recently reported that their hashtags have stopped working, and this is generally because they are using the same ones for all their posts.
