Heloust, I registered a bluetooth.[insert country TLD here] while ago, and was wondering is "Bluetooth" a registered trademark as I found some mixed information from the internet.

Do you think somebody would buy this domain if I put it up for sale?

Not sure about the legality of this. Far as I know, with Twitter handles at least, you CAN own a trademarked name on the internet (like taking @dr.pepper for example if @drpepper was their official @) but you CAN'T post content related to their niche. So for owning @dr.pepper, you wouldn't be able to post carbonated drinks (and would have to post something like cats for example).

Though I would imagine it's the same for a domain name. So you or your future buyer would be able to have the domain yourself, but you wouldn't be able to post Bluetooth related things. You'd have to step away from tech with your websites' content.

Alright, I'll put it up for sale, can you recommend a valuation tool? I tried some, but don't know how accurate they are.

No, sorry. I can't recommend any tools for selling or trading domains.
You should also contact Bluetooth about this to see if they'd like to buy it for premium. That's about all of the advice I can give you...

Lol, i never thought bluetooth .com actually exist, going to tryout a way to get a backlink from them.

How can you get a backlink from there, when this has nothing to do with that either? Your name is indeed questionably correct.

This is off topic thing, and trust me bigger the site is, higher are the chances of orphan subdomain. Just need right scanning tool.

PS: i am not hijaxking the thread dear mods. Please dont fine me.

And what can you be fined for?

That's an odd court question.

What is the generic definition of Bluetooth? There is none. It is a trademark.

If you asked a bunch of people if "Kleenex" was a trademark they would also say no, not knowing that Kleenex is a brand trademark for "tissue".

Delta, as in "delta airlines" or "delta hotels", has a generic meaning. The land at the head of a river. Or the difference between mathematical values.

"Bluetooth" has no meaning outside of the networking protocol between devices.

The only argument I could see is that the owners have failed to actively protect their trademark and have, therefore, lost their proprietary right to it.

As long as no one ruled otherwice, it is a protected trademark.

SO every single tech device that includes bluetooth is in danger, such as even tooth brushes with bluetooth speakers, TV, Smart TV, most if not all speaker brands and then let alone bluetooth.

The copyright is for the tech itself not for a domain name lmfao, i see you posting a lot in the past few hours and providing a lot of nonsense.

Stop posting the dumbest shit possible.

I have not said that he could not register a domain.
Stop posting the dumbest shit possible.
Stop being so hostile, seems like someone else posted the dumbest things now.

Just calling it as it is, you are commenting without knowledge.

You where not at all helping the OP, Bluetooth has no trademark on a domain and there are so many different patents on this.

Your comment did not help the op at all, no information provided just useless spamming and I am not being hostile at all just do not want people like yourself confusing OP. which is kinda what you did.

But all good I am sure he or she is smart enough to figure it out.

I don´t get where you read in my answer, where I said anything about a domain.

Get your facts right, stop trolling the thread.

Meaning your comment was absolute useless, so why even bother? Not sure how I am trolling but if you interpret it like that, it could count as pure aff signature spamming on your behalf.

Can't believe you reached the post count you did.
