Ok, I will sit back and watch you burn now, instead of being a dick and saying, oh that's not my job, short posts should be banned. We are like a "family" here, we chat every day, we like to keep the community clean of such posts and give back to the forum, reporting posts against the rules is the minimum that you can do

I personally wouldn’t limit a message to only 45 characters for example. This will lead into people adding unnecessary amounts of words just for the sake of it.

Instead, a message containing less than 45 words could have a particular badge or some type of visual separation (like another color or so).

Now the poster of that message is aware of his/her ‘mistake’, and this will make it very easy for readers to report such a message as stated by the rules.

Downside: when the Poster sees this ‘mistake’ he/she will just edit the message.

Yes it makes sense, but sometimes people like to agree shortly on something and express how they feel like "woooooow I am amazed by... " you can't just stop all these posts it would be sad.. The principle of a forum is firstly to be able to share...

But of course some people abuse this and should be banned, and generally they are if they go too far with this principle.

This is bullshit...if this is approved you can create blackhatworld.kp, the North Korean domain, now you want to censor how many letters we write?

Read the whole thread before trying to make me look bad, that is my second post.
I feel like I’ve seen your name 100 times today, you are first to post in every new thread, really HQ

Agreed, I don’t see a way around it tbh

I´m lucky that I am not a MOD on this forum, whenever someone starts to report short posts, the poor MOD´s will have their share of work multiplied by 100.

I am not making you look bad but when implying something you always need to look at yourself first before opening a thread and saying how things should be done :)
I don't want to type 3 paragraphs on what I think of someone's journey when I can give a reply in a few words and get to the point

I will strongly not support this, until and unless it is intentional spam.

If a moderator, or a member helps me by sharing his insights on a topic, I obviously say him thank you, I agree. With like button, and that is normal courtesy.

But, a person who just joined forum and writes thank you in every other post to increase post count that must be banned.

Posts like this should be banned, they serve no purpose other then post count pumping and it takes too long to find relevant info while scrolling through these lq posts:
Thanks bro!
Such a cool share!
Omg what a gem!!!
Move this to je vip
Omg ty so much
Bookmarked for later
Old but still working
...

What does bhw think?

Something along those lines is already against the rules but not just for the short comments but rather when we see it as post count inflation activity.

Rule 3.5 from here - https://www.blackhatworld.com/help/terms/

3.5 engaging in post count inflation by posting excessive amounts of short replies for the sole purpose of inflating your post count. This includes the infamous “thanks for the share.” (If you’d like to say “thanks” to someone for their effort/contribution, make use of the Thanks button).

We do give out plenty of warnings when we see that occurring but again, it is not for the short comments as a stand alone, but more to keep people inflating post count.

Hope that gives some clarity.

Welcome BHW
Welcome to the forum buddy!
hi welcome
Please elaborate.
I need one, thx!

Well not all 45 character (or less) posts are useless. Some are short but are far more valuable. Making longer posts doesn't necessarily equate to making sense.

so just remove the posts you dont like right

If my memory serves there used to be a minimum character limit 8 or 9 years back, I think though it was only 15 at the time.

@macdonjo3
I have a list of 6 such accounts for sale funny enough, all eligible for Jr VIP upgrades, that were offered for me for sale.
Remember back in 2014 when members used to get around this by ending their posts in "///15 characters"? :D
@Jason2021, the short spam posts are annoying, but whenever we get a report that a member is inflating post count, we audit all of their posts, delete the spam, and give them a warning. Adding a minimum character count would only result in members posting

Thanks a bunch bro!
