Question for long time flippers

Someone must've run into this before..
When you're flipping a website and you're recovering the previous content and every permalink is ?p=734, ?p=591, etc.
How do you recreate these?
Because when I try to set the permalink as, lets say ?p=734, it removes the ? and =,
setting it as p734..

You can use a php script so that every value of a parameter shows a different part of the site.

I appreciate the replies. I didn't want to redirect every page to avoid a hit to the existing positions,
and I also didn't know about creating a PHP script or anything like that.
But I did end up recreating the posts with the auto-generated ?p=xxx
then manually changing them through phpmyadmin.
