Backlinks from Tumblr

Hi guys

I haven't been building link myself for 3-4 years now and recently I started a new brand so I thought I dust out my old backlinks tools and try them out.

So I got a few good old tumblrs links + PBNs to give some juice to my main sites but when I check my main site's backlink in ahref it still doesn't show tumblr's backlinks.

Those tumblr links are indexed in google, infact they got indexed and recrawled in 1-2 days.

It's been 1 week that my main site is still not getting the backlinks.
is it normal or this method is as good as dead nowadays? or it just takes some more time to get things updated these days?

Any thoughtful input would be appreciated, thanks, guys!

since they're already indexed your job is done. I'm not sure tumblr links are the best, though...

I think tumblr does nofollow on their links unless it's added directly to the html

sometimes it doesn't show or it takes a long time for ahrefs to show the links

as already mentioned above, if the links already indexed, you good to go

They are indexed so leave it be. Ahrefs will pick it up eventually and even if they don't it won't affect your ranking in Google

ahrefs indexes the links differently than google. If they are indexed in google, that's all that counts, doesn't matter if seo tools show them or not

where in tumblr page did you place your link? in the description section of the page or the posts themselves?

me too but they have like PA 40+, 15+ etc which I thought it doesn't hurt to get backlink from hehe

woo didn't knew that, will edit all of them after hearing others opinion as well

I use the note function with spun articles with 800+ words with hyperlinks to the keywords. since Tumblr allows editing the HTML, I can also use an HTML tag to hyperlink as well as, if that helps. What do you reckon?

They are more social shares than backlinks and I personally think other social media's are more effective, Facebook being the first one
