What I see that paypal offers is a dual benefit:
1. You can pay straightly from you CC. It's a payment processor, like Stripe
2. At the same time, your funding is "relatively well protected" by a pseudo-buyers protection
I know plenty of solutions that feature just one of the two, for example, Skrill is a protector, but is not payment processors, or Stripe is payment processor, but doesn't protect anyone.
Like Skrill there are many protection systems, but all I know need, forcefully to pre-fund the account, before paying. No straight payment processors.
But maybe, there is a solution that offers this two and I don't know it, payment processor + protection.
